Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco received the inaugural Regulatory Landmark Award at the 2025 Asia Gaming Awards held last Tuesday at Shangri-La, The Fort.
The award, a new category in the prestigious industry recognition program, honors Tengco’s significant contributions to the growth of the Philippine gaming industry.
“This award reaffirms our efforts in fostering a well-regulated gaming sector in the Philippines,” Tengco said in his acceptance speech. “It will serve as an inspiration for all of us to continue shaping an industry that is not only profitable but also ethical, sustainable, and beneficial to the communities we serve.”

Tengco acknowledged the PAGCOR team and industry stakeholders, noting that the recognition reflects their dedication, resilience and commitment to regulatory excellence.
Under Tengco’s leadership, the Philippine gaming industry achieved record-breaking performance in 2024. Gross gaming revenue reached PHP410 billion, representing a 25% increase from the previous year. Similarly, PAGCOR recorded unprecedented revenues of 112 billion pesos, marking 41% year-on-year growth.
The Asia Gaming Awards, now in its fifth year, recognizes achievements of key players and leaders in the gaming industry across the region.
