Pag-IBIG Fund earns COA’s highest audit rating for 9th straight year

Pag-IBIG Fund has earned the Commission on Audit’s highest audit ratingfor the ninth consecutive year even amid the pandemic, top officialsannounced on Friday (Aug.06).

In a letter dated July 29, COA informed the agency that it has rendered anunmodified opinion — its highest rating — on the fairness of the presentationof Pag-IBIG Fund’s financial statements for the year 2020.

Secretary Eduardo D. del Rosario, Chairmanof the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD)and of the 11-member Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, said the ninth top rating from the state auditors is a milestone made more impressive as it has been achieved during the pandemic.

From 2012 to 2017, Pag-IBIG Fund earned COA’s unqualified opinion, andfrom 2018 to 2020, it has gained its unmodified opinion. Auditors use boththe unqualified opinion and unmodified opinion, which are the highestratings that COA gives togovernment agency or corporation, to mean thatthe financial statements of an agency are presented, in all materialrespects, in accordance with applicable financial reporting frameworks.

Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Acmad Rizaldy P. Moti added that as they rapidly responded to the needs of members, stakeholders,and their own personnel through numerous programs and interventions,the agency made sure that all requisite processes were strictly followedensuring that all were above-board prior to implementation.

Cebu Pacific clears 100% of refund requests

Cebu Pacific has fully refunded its passengers for requests filed until June 2021, issuing P7.7 billion to its customers.

The airline overhauled its refund processes and augmented its refund-dedicated workforce, to process 991,764 refund requests with various forms of payment.

The 100-percent refund completion rate excludes unsuccessful refund requests, such as: bookings made through travel agencies that may have ceased operations;  and cash bookings that had incorrect or were lacking bank details and other forms of validation.

Cebu Pacific also encourages those with pending refund requests to contact the airline through http://bit.ly/CEBFeedbackForm on the CEB website.

Malaysia joins online sale

Malaysia once again is joining other nine Asean member-states in the second edition of Asean Online Sale Day (AOSD) 2021 held from August 8 to 10.

Through the AOSD, Asean member-stateswill collectively conduct an online shopping event through a dedicated portal featuring their participating businesses on a ‘country pavilion.’

Malaysia’s participation in the AOSD 2021 is part of MATRADE’s continuous effort to position Malaysian companies in global e-commerce marketplaces and reap new business opportunities brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aboitiz Group ramps up vaccination of its team members

The Aboitiz Group, last July 28, began the initial round of vaccinations, marking the first step towards its goal to vaccinate more than 30,000 Aboitiz team members and its subcontractors nationwide.

The Group partnered with AC Health and Reliance to maximize their network of partner clinics and sites, and leverage their respective apps to streamline the vaccination process.

Multiple vaccination hubs were set up in key cities and provinces such as Taguig, Quezon, Baguio, Batangas, Pampanga, Bicol, Cebu, Bacolod, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro to ensure that team members can be vaccinated in the areas closest to them and to reduce their risk of exposure when traveling.

Through the close collaboration between Aboitiz and AC Health and Reliance, the end-to-end process was efficient and smooth for team members.

Other subsidiaries such as Pilmico and Aboitiz Construction Inc. are also set to start their vaccination rollouts in the coming days, through collaborations with their respective health partners.

Converge welcomes early inclusion in PSEi, Services Index

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has qualified for early inclusion in the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) as its market capitalization reached nearly P180 billion at the close of trade on August 5. The pure fiber broadband operator will likewise be included in the Services Index.

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) approved policy adjustments following its July 2020 to June 2021 review, with the change in the PSEi composition taking effect on August 16. The PSEi is composed of 30 members which represent the largest, most valuable, and most liquid companies in the local exchange.

Converge is aiming to reach 55 percent of total Filipino households by 2025. As of end-April, Converge has connected Visayas and Mindanao to its national fiber backbone.

Foodpanda, DOH partner

Foodpanda Philippines has partnered with the Department of Health (DOH) for its COVID-19 Vaccine Awareness Campaign. The partnership was formalized following the government’s nationwide vaccine rollout, supporting DOH’s Resbakuna campaign.

“It’s Worth the Shot”, foodpanda’s vaccination program focuses on the benefits of the vaccine for the safety of one’s health and of the community.The information drive seeks to target its employees, partner riders, merchants, and customers through printed and digital materials produced with DOH.

Foodpanda actively encourages its fleet of freelance riders by devoting a significant amount of funds to the program for them, pledging various monetary and non-monetary incentives for those who will complete their COVID-19 vaccines.

Foodpanda has also signed up as one of the brand partners of the Ingat Angat Bakuna Lahat initiative, a private sector-led multimedia campaign that shares the same objective with the DOH by encouraging the public to get vaccinated.

 Makati Medical Center won a Gold award at the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World Awards for Excellence (GWA) crisis communications online category for its COVID-19 Information Program.

The recognition grants MakatiMed’s entry as meeting international standards of excellence in public relations.

Aside from Gold award, the hospital’s two other entries were named finalists in the publication and community engagement categories.

The Golden World Awards is held annually by IPRA, the leading global network for PR professionals, which aims to advance trusted communications and the ethical practice of public relations.
