Novellino Wines celebrates 25 years of excellence in the winemaking industry, a milestone that reflects both the brand’s success and its impact on the Philippine economy. Founded by Vicente “Nonoy” Quimbo, Novellino aims to democratize wine drinking among Filipinos, promoting it as an aspirational and healthy choice. By importing grapes from around the world and producing wine locally, Novellino not only enhances the wine culture but also creates valuable job opportunities.

As of 2023, Novellino commands a remarkable 41.6% market share in the light grape wine category, solidifying its status as a market leader. In response to this growth, the company has invested significantly in upgrading its manufacturing plant with cutting-edge technology and equipment to ensure high-quality production standards.

The recent 25th anniversary celebration at Novellino’s winery in Calamba, Laguna, gathered family, business partners, guests, and media to reflect on the brand’s vibrant journey. Quimbo, along with his sons Carlos (Director and Chief Strategy Officer) and Chris (President and General Manager), shared insights into Novellino’s evolution over the past quarter-century. They noted a cultural shift in wine consumption; Novellino has become a staple at Filipino celebrations, particularly during Christmas, where many families now consider it essential for their holiday gatherings.

Guests enjoyed an exclusive tour of Novellino’s innovative five-stage production process: fermentation, centrifugation, microfiltration, chilling, and bottling. The winery proudly showcased its latest acquisition—a state-of-the-art Alfa Laval centrifuge from Sweden—making it one of the few wineries in Asia equipped with such advanced technology. This facility can produce up to 30,000 liters of sweet wine per batch while implementing sustainable practices through revolutionary wastewater disposal solutions and renewable energy sources.

Novellino’s commitment to sustainability drives the brand to meet market demands while winning the hearts of Filipinos. The company actively pursues global recognition, focusing on delivering exceptional Filipino wine both locally and internationally. Furthermore, Novellino explores innovative wine-infused experiences that resonate with consumers, ensuring its offerings remain a cherished choice among Filipinos.

Over the past 25 years, Filipinos have developed a strong affinity for Novellino’s sweet and rich wines—synonymous with quality.
