Ninja Van has installed a brand new crossbelt sorter in its 21,000 square-meter warehouse in Cabuyao, Laguna to boost its sort automation efforts.
Ninja Van Philippines amped up the festive spirit even more as its Ninja Santas zoomed along Metro Manila to bring the holiday cheer in the form of fast and hassle-free deliveries. Donning their Santa hats and capes, the riders rode from Pasig, stopping over at select Ministop and partner franchise stores along the route, and concluding the ride back in Pasig.

Innovation through Komo
EastWest continues to pursue innovation by heavily investing in digital initiatives to serve a growing number of customer needs.
During the recently held 47th Philippine Business Conference & Expo (PBC&E) organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Isabelle Gotianun Yap, executive director and special projects Officer at East West Banking Corp., highlighted Komo, the brand’s exclusively digital banking service offered through EastWest’s fully-owned subsidiary, EastWest Rural Bank.
Komo (Kontrol Mo ang Pera Mo) was launched in August 2020 to give Filipinos more control and flexibility in terms of managing money.
Through the Komo mobile app, customers can create a digital savings account capable of earning up to 4 percent interest, enjoy customizable insurance and other features such as seamless transfers, QR payments, and real-time transaction history for easy money management.
To date, over 85 percent of Komo customers served belong to the 21-35 age range, with 64 percent residing outside Metro Manila.
“For 2022, we aim to grow further towards this mission by strengthening what we have now and expanding with other products such as loans, analytics, and other innovations to further deliver on our thrust of Kontrol Mo ang Pera Mo,” Yap added.

Free techvoc training
More unemployed, out of school youth, and 4Ps beneficiaries age 18-30 yrs old can avail of free techvoc training with employment opportunities as YouthWorks PH (YWPH) work together with City of Caloocan and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) NCR.
The City of Caloocan will facilitate the implementation of YWPH’s Flexible Training for Work in their communities by recruiting youth trainees, encouraging its private sectors to provide training and training subsidies, and tapping its Public Employment Services Office to ensure employment opportunities to program graduates. At the same time, DSWD-NCR will encourage qualified beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program to join YWPH.
The collaboration which will expand recruitment and training efforts to benefiting communities.

DHL Express delivers over 500K vaccines
DHL Express has delivered the South Korean government’s vaccine donations.
The 539,000 doses of vaccines, which arrived on a DHL Express cargo flight, are a one-off donation from South Korea to the Philippines to aid in global COVID-19 recovery efforts.
This shipment is made possible through the two countries’ collaborative efforts to advance public health and support COVID-19 immunization initiatives.
The donation brings South Korea’s COVID-19 assistance to the Philippines to approximately P10.67 billion.
DHL Express Philippines monitored and facilitated the arrival of the vaccines at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City, which was received by Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr., Dr. Miko Amansec, Dr. Anjo Fabellon from DOH, and South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines, Kim Inchul.

Smoking cessation clinic opens
The Lung Center Philippines recently opened a smoking cessation clinic, a big step in helping smokers quit through medical intervention.
The facility offers a comprehensive program which includes cessation counseling and access to nicotine replacement therapy products like Nicorette.
The clinic will also offer smokers viable options for quitting such as behavioral therapies and FDA-approved medications, which include various forms of nicotine replacement products.
The program’s partnership with Johnson & Johnson will make nicotine replacement therapy products such as Nicorette more accessible to smokers.
