Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) proudly announces its partnership with Global Electric Transport (GET) Philippines to launch an innovative electric vehicle (EV) shuttle service for its employees, commencing this month.

Aligned with NAC’s commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions, the introduction of this EV shuttle service marks a significant step towards achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050.

The Community Optimized Managed Electronic Transport (COMET) shuttle, equipped with a 54-kilowatt lithium iron phosphate battery, offers a zero-emission solution with a 30-passenger capacity and a remarkable 100-kilometer range on a single charge. This sustainable alternative to traditional gas-powered shuttles emphasizes NAC’s dedication to environmental stewardship.

“We are thrilled to provide our employees with a clean and efficient mode of transportation,” stated Salvador Cabauatan, NAC’s assistant vice president for Facility Management. “This partnership underscores NAC’s commitment to reducing our carbon footprint while enhancing the commuting experience for our workforce.”

Operated through the GETPASS Mobile Application, members of the Nickel Asia Riders Club can access the EV shuttle service free of charge. The service route encompasses key locations in Quezon City, Mandaluyong, and Makati, ensuring convenient transportation for NAC employees across the metro.

Developed in collaboration with QEV Technologies in Spain and EvDynamics in China, the COMET reflects cutting-edge technology and innovation in sustainable transportation.

Furthermore, as part of NAC’s ongoing sustainability initiatives, the company has invested in hybrid excavators that capture and reuse excess energy during operations. With two units acquired in 2023 and an additional nine units ordered for standardized usage in 2024, NAC continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable practices.
