Local motorcycle taxi company MOVE IT has strengthened its partnership with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) by donating new helmets to the agency’s Motorcycle Riding Academy (MRA).

The donation supports MMDA’s initiative to make motorcycle training more accessible through its free riding courses, which cater to both novice and experienced riders under expert instruction.

This latest collaboration builds on an established partnership that includes MMDA’s support of MOVE IT’s road safety training program and its in-app MOVE IT Academy. The company has previously provided equipment such as agility cones, rider vests, and tents to the academy.

Access to educational programs aimed at making our road behavior more safety-centered is extremely important for our two-wheel motorists,” said MOVE IT General Manager Wayne Jacinto. “That’s why MOVE IT wholeheartedly supports programs like MRA. Road safety is the responsibility of all transport stakeholders, which is why it’s crucial that all of us – from platforms to government agencies – work together to ensure we make our roads safer each day.”

MMDA Chairman Romando Artes expressed gratitude for MOVE IT’s ongoing support, noting, “A united industry stance on promoting road safety is essential for cultivating a culture of discipline and a safety-first mindset on our roads. This is just the first of many initiatives that MMDA and MOVE IT will undertake this year focused on road safety.”
