Mober, a frontrunner in green logistics services, strengthened the Philippines’ push for commercial EV leadership in Southeast Asia by hosting the second World Electric Vehicle Day Forum Philippines last September 4 at EDSA Shangri-La Manila.
Themed “Powering Up the Philippines to ASEAN Leadership Through Commercial EV,” the forum convened leading government agencies and industry leaders to explore positioning the Philippines as a key ASEAN commercial EV player.
“From lady drivers to autonomous EVs, from battery swapping to renewable hubs, Mober is not just adapting to the future. We are building it,” said Dennis Ng, Founder and CEO of Mober.
Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, principal author of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), expressed support through a video message: “Sustainable transportation for Filipinos has always been close to my heart. This was the driving force behind EVIDA, which was passed into law in 2022.”

The forum featured an interactive “Myth Busters with the EV Guy” session, with Ng and Liveable Cities Philippines Chairman Bill Luz addressing misconceptions about commercial EVs, including battery efficiency, range anxiety, charging infrastructure, and flood performance.
Two panel discussions anchored the event. The first explored renewable energy and workforce development, featuring experts from DOE, TESDA, DTI, Berde Renewables, Sarona Asset Management, and Mober. The second focused on resilient supply chains, with leaders from IKEA Philippines, Ajinomoto, and Monde Nissin emphasizing that green mobility has become a business imperative for meeting global sustainability standards.
“This year’s forum showcased that the transition to electric mobility is about building the ecosystem that supports its viability,” Ng added, expressing optimism about positioning the Philippines as a key ASEAN commercial EV player.
The forum was held in partnership with Manila Bulletin, BusinessMirror, The Manila Times, Manila Standard, and Malaya Business Insight.
