Manila Electric Company (Meralco), led by Manuel V. Pangilinan, actively participated in the 2025 mock elections organized by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to ensure reliable electricity service for the upcoming May 12 midterm polls.
Meralco crews simulated quick response measures for potential power service issues, such as downed electricity lines and fire-related outages, at polling precincts like Makati High School. The utility plans to deploy generator sets and floodlights in strategic locations, with personnel on standby 24/7 throughout the election process.
Since November 2024, Meralco has coordinated with COMELEC, recognizing the critical role of electricity in ensuring a smooth electoral process. This proactive approach aims to mitigate disruptions and support the democratic exercise effectively.
