The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) kicked off the Christmas season with the opening of Liwanag Park at its headquarters in Pasig City on November 29, 2024. This event marks the beginning of a series of celebrations leading up to Meralco’s 50th anniversary in 2025.
First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and Meralco Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan led the lighting ceremony, emphasizing the company’s commitment to bringing light to its customers and supporting the One Meralco Foundation’s efforts to uplift communities beyond its franchise area.
During the celebration, Meralco recognized eight community partners for their contributions to electrification programs and celebrated reaching a milestone of eight million services provided. This achievement highlights Meralco’s dedication to improving lives through reliable electricity.
The Liwanag Park features the iconic Lopez Building façade adorned with Christmas decorations illuminated by colorful LED lights, inspired by the theme “Paskong Pinoy.” Since its inception in 1998, the park has served as a symbol of hope and joy for Filipinos. It is open to the public from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. until December 31, 2024.
Meralco continues to prioritize community engagement and sustainability initiatives. The company actively participates in programs that enhance public mobility and improve living conditions across various sectors.
As Meralco looks forward to its 50th-anniversary celebrations in 2025, it remains committed to its mission of lighting lives and fostering community development. The upcoming events will include customer appreciation programs, community outreach initiatives, and product launches to enhance customer experience further.
Meralco invites all stakeholders to join in celebrating this festive season while reinforcing its commitment to providing reliable energy solutions that contribute to a brighter future for all Filipinos.
