Meralco announces business schedule

The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco)  is encouraging customers to send a personal message (PM) via Facebook Messenger, Twitter or call its 16211 hotline before going to Meralco Business Centers (BCs) for any inquiries and concerns on billing and payments as a precaution to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

The distribution utility has announced that its BCs will remain open from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and  on Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to 12 noon   beginning March 24 until further notice.

BCs will be closed from April 1 to 3 in observance of Maundy Thursday to Black Saturday.

Electric meter reading will still continue during this time, with Meralco readers working under the strict health guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

Lessandra expands in Nueva Ecija

Lessandra Santa Rosa is the latest community expansion of Lessandra in North Luzon Region

Lessandra, developer of quality and affordable houses in the country, recently opened its newest project, Lessandra Santa Rosa, located in Brgy. Solenad, Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija. It is the second Lessandra community in the province, looking to serve more residents in the North.

UAP journeys back in time for centennial celebration

The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) welcomes the centennial celebration of the architecture profession in the country with an architectural-historical tour in Intramuros, Manila last February 23.

Led by its National President Arch. Renato Heray, participants of the Architecture Centennial Coordinating Committee conducted a historical journey back in time in Intramuros and visited specific sites which are landmarks in the history of the architecture profession.

These are the Ayuntamiento, Intendencia, and Mapua University, all of which are located inside the walled city.

 UAP also unveiled the 100 Years of Architecture in the Philippine celebration logo and theme “ Isang Siglo Ng Propesyon, Pagyamanin Ang Arkitekturang Filipino.”

Hitachi-Omron tapped for 7-Eleven ATMs

Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions Corp. said Pito AxM Platform Inc., a Philippine-based subsidiary of Seven Bank Ltd., has chosen the company’s cash recycling ATMs and the managed service for its operation and management systems of ATMs in 7-Eleven stores in the Philippines. The service began in February.

This project introduces cash recycling ATMs for the first time  in the Philippines, enhancing convenience for the users of financial services at 7-Eleven stores in the country.

Seven Bank chose Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions for the Seven Bank and PAPI projects for its packaged software that makes short-term system development possible.The company is also undertaking the installation of ATMs and the provision of maintenance services jointly with One Point Contact Inc., a local business partner.

In this project, efforts will be made to gradually install ATMs in 2,960 7-Eleven stores  in the Philippines, starting with stores in  Metro Manila.

Xiaomi reports solid growth

Xiaomi Corp. announced its audited consolidated results for the year ending Dec. 31, 2020.

In 2020, Xiaomi’s total revenue for the year amounted to RMB245.9 billion, representing an increase of 19.4 percent year-over-year; adjusted net profit for the year was RMB13 billion, representing an increase of 12.8 percent year-over-year, exceeding market expectations.

In 2020, Xiaomi’s smartphone revenue amounted to RMB152.2 billion for the year, representing an increase of 24.6 percent year-over-year.

In 2020, the Group’s global smartphone shipments totalled 146.4 million units, an increase of 17.5 percent year-over-year.

In 2020, the Group vigorously propelled the “Smartphone í— AIoT” strategy as revenue from IoT and lifestyle products segment reached RMB67.4 billion representing an increase of 8.6 percent year-over-year.
