Meralco ramps up MVP Group booster vaccinations
Meralco FVP and head of Networks Ronnie Aperocho receives his company-procured Moderna booster COVID-19 vaccine.
The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) led the ramped-up booster inoculation activity of the companies chaired by business leader Manuel V. Pangilinan under the #WeGotYourVac Immunization Program for employees and dependents.
Medical personnel from Cardinal Santos Medical Center from the group’s own Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings Inc. administered company-procured Moderna booster doses at Meralco Compound in Pasig in time for the second round of the government’s Bayanihan, Bakunahan National Vaccination Days. Partners from the Department of Health and City Government of Pasig were also present during the December 15 inoculation activity.
While the NVD round 2 was postponed in select regions due to the threat of the severe tropical storm, the government’s inoculation drive still targets to vaccinate 54 million Filipinos by yearend.
Insurance For Resilience Webinar Series
ARISE-Philippines and its priority lead for insurance, the Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA) recently held the Insurance for Resilience webinar series, a two-part webinar intended to raise awareness on the critical role that insurance plays in building the resilience of businesses and communities.
Session one was held last November 12, which featured Insurance 101 where Mitch F. Rellosa, PIRA executive director, discussed “An Introduction to the Concepts of Risk, Risk Management and Insurance”. The second session followed on November 15, which promoted the Current PIRA Initiatives for Disaster Risk Resilience. Rellosa discussed “Parametric Products” and Sandy L. Reyes, PIRA TWG on Agri-Insurance, discussed “Philippine Catastrophe Insurance Facility”. Attendee Walter B. Panganiban said that “I have learned a lot. It is my first time to hear about Parametric Insurance. Love to hear more about Insurance. Maraming salamat po for this opportunity.”

Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) bagged another “Triple Star” award in the recently concluded 2021 Isuzu Distributor & Dealer Aftersales Award.
This award is given by Isuzu Motors Ltd. Japan (IML) since 2018, to Isuzu distributors and dealers worldwide for providing excellent aftersales service, with awards ranging from Single to Triple star as the highest accolade to be attained.
This year, despite the standards made more stringent, IPC managed to receive the highest rating, making IPC a Triple Star awardee for three consecutive years.
IPC’s back-to-back-to-back title can be attributed to the collaborative efforts and commitment of the entire dealer network to continuously improve its aftersales operations and technical skills in the aim to provide utmost customer experience.

This year’s TAYO Awards received a record number of entries at 933, with 67 validation interview qualifiers, 40 semi-finalists and 20 national finalists.
INAEC awarded
INAEC Aviation Corp. (INAEC) has been awarded honorable mention in the COVID-19 Agility & Response category in the International SOS Foundation 2021 Duty of Care Awards. The award was given in recognition of INAEC’s program, which demonstrated the importance of implementing protocols that protect the health and well being of their workers.
The awards were announced recently at the Duty of Care Summit to honor organizations and individuals making a significant contribution to protecting their employees, at home or away.
The judging panel, which reviewed entries from 24 industries across 29 countries, included internationally recognized leaders in fields related to Duty of Care.
P1M for typhoon aid
More than P1 million is earmarked by Home Credit Philippines to aid victims of super typhoon Odette that devastated large portions of Visayas and Mindanao a few days before Christmas. This amount will be coursed through its partner agencies for on-ground assistance distribution.
Home Credit temporarily halted its operations in areas affected by the typhoon. This means loan payment collection will be paused to give reprieve to customers who are victims of the recent disaster in the areas that were declared by the government under storm signals 3 and 4.
My Home Credit App will continue to operate for financial transactions.

La Paz Plaza dev’t
GLOBAL Business Power Corp.(GBP) through its subsidiaries, Panay Energy Development Corpo. (PEDC) and Panay Power Corp. (PPC), sealed a partnership with the Iloilo City Government for the enhancement of the La Paz Plaza — the city’s largest park and among the most visited recreation places in the area.
The P15-million public-private development project will transform the existing plaza lagoon into a ‘Blue Koi Lagoon’ and establish a ‘Green Butterfly Garden.’
The improvement of Iloilo City’s widely renowned park, located within GBP’s two adopted barangays, is intended to promote the La Paz Plaza as a cultural and tourism spot.
GBP turned over Dungon seedlings to the Iloilo City LGU to aid in propagating the mangrove species within the recreation grounds. This donation aims to increase the population of the tropical wetland tree, significantly contributing to the overall restoration of various waterways and rivers traversing the city.
