Shopping Extravaganza at the RUSH Fast Track Bazaar

The RUSH Fast Track Bazaar at Paseo de Roxas, Makati brought together over 30 local brands which set up interesting pop-up stores. The bazaar offered on-the-spot munchies as well as thoughtful gifts for the near and the dear.

Taking the spotlight are three local food brands which graduated top of the class in RUSH’s recent three-month acceleration program.

Iccomo “Iccomo,” refers to a simple yet profound question: “Anong flavor ng Iced COffee MO?”

Titan Bird corresponds with the generous proportions of their offerings, aiming to please taste buds with an array of double-portion roast chicken rice meals.

Kape.tea delivers an array of delectable coffee concoctions directly to customers’ doorsteps.

Other participating brands included Goreng Haus, Grind & Pour Café, OhTako Takoyaki, Eat Snow PH, BLCK 305 Café, Tinsel Pan, Lil Orbits,CafeFrance, Chooks To Go, Sweet Station by M&M, Studio Binigknit, Akafe Coffee Kawit, Krusty Oven, Koffle Café, Everyday Coffee Roasters, MP Nieva’s Flower Shop, Lucia Dulce Corporation, Plant-Based & More, Oppa Bowl To Go, and Pahinga Store.

Other companies under Globe Group venture builder 917Ventures, such as the all-in-one digital pet care solutions provider Petpal and telehealth super-app KonsultaMD also joined the event.

Light The World Giving Machines are back to bring Christmas Joy to Manila and Cebu

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invites all to celebrate the birth and life of Jesus Christ by extending a loving hand to those in need by bringing back Light the World Giving Machines, which, unlike regular vending machines, allow the public to participate in instant and affordable acts of service for fellow Filipinos in need.

A Giving Machine will be hosted by Ayala Malls TriNoma in Quezon City and launched on November 9, at 11:00 AM on Level 4, near Cinema 1. In Cebu, another Giving Machine will be hosted by Ayala Center Cebu, and its launch will be held on November 16, at 11:00 AM, on Level 3 (between Casa Verde and Dessert Factory). All Giving Machines will be available during mall hours until January 1, 2024.

Items that are available through the Giving Machines this year include food packs, hygiene kits, educational materials, student financial aid, emergency and repair kits, multivitamins, eyeglasses and eye-care packages, medical kits, water kits, crutches, wheelchairs, immunization packages, and psychosocial support, among others.

This year, donors have the option of donating via cash or e-payment alternatives, including GCash and AliPay.

The Church which covers all operational costs ensures that 100 percent of every donation goes to the recipients identified by participating nonprofit organizations, including Caritas Manila, Caritas Cebu, Feed The Children, Inc., HERO Foundation, Inc., Mabuhay Deseret Foundation and UNICEF.

PLDT, Smart enable Agrilink 2023, pushing for digital upskilling in agri-fisheries

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart supported the recent Agrilink 2023, providing connectivity and solutions to over 15,000 participants from the agri-fisheries sector, a vital stakeholder in the drive to build a food-secure Philippines.

The PLDT Group highlighted at the Agrilink its ‘eBiz Buy Local Bazaar’ on TikTok Shop initiative, a digital upskilling-to-e-commerce program designed to equip agri-fishery stakeholders with the right digital tools to boost productivity and profitability.

PLDT and Smart encouraged Agrilink participants to explore e-commerce platforms like TikTok Shop to help them connect with a wider audience, engage potential customers using entertaining content, and lead them to shop. With ‘shoppertainment’, MSMEs can start generating their own entertaining content to emphasize the relevance, fun, and community of online shopping.

Agrilink is the biggest annual agribusiness exhibition and seminar organized by the Foundation for Resource Linkage and Development.

Cabal-Revilla recognized as the Most Influential Filipina Woman in the World

June Cheryl “Chaye” Cabal Revilla, executive vice president and chief finance, risk and sustainability officer of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, and president and chief executive officer of mWell, has been honored with the prestigious “Most Influential Filipina Woman in the World” award by the Foundation for Filipina Women’s Network. The award was presented at a Gala Dinner Ceremony at the Lobkowicz Palace, a 16th-century palace in the Prague Castle complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Prague, Czech Republic.

The Foundation for Filipina Women’s Network recognizes women of Philippine ancestry who are making a significant impact in the global workplace. Cabal-Revilla was chosen among outstanding nominees from 10 countries this year.

The Innovator and Thought Leader in the Tertiary Economic Sector award received by Cabal-Revilla, recognizes Filipina women who have broken new ground in the global workplace and delivered unique applications of emerging technology. This award category is also for someone who has launched a new enterprise, a learning function, or completely overhauled an existing way of doing things, resulting in a new development or community initiative.

The Most Influential Filipina Woman in the World Award (Global FWN100â„¢) was initiated by FWN in 2006 in the United States and has since expanded globally.

Rakuten Viber unveils first Filipino brand Ambassador

Rakuten Viber has handpicked multifaceted star and Sparkle artist Gabbi Garcia as its first-ever brand ambassador in the Philippines, one of the leading communications app’s key growth markets.

Jollibee Group ramps up solar power use in sites

Jollibee Group’s Zen3 commissary is one of its supply chain facilities where solar panels are being integrated and is expected to be completed by Dec 30.  Installation at other sites, such as the Jollibee Worldwide Services Logistics Center, is set to be finished by the second quarter of 2024.

In keeping with the company’s sustainability “Joy for Tomorrow” agenda, the Jollibee Group recently announced that it is further accelerating its shift to renewable energy through solar panel installations in its stores, commissaries, and logistics centers.

The Jollibee Group recognizes that implementing and fast-tracking its sustainability agenda demands collective commitment and collaborative action. As such, the company encourages franchisees to grow their businesses with sustainability in mind.

Orica, UP partnership for scholarship program

Orica recently announced a strategic relationship with the Mining, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering Department of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman College of Engineering.

Through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) together with UP’s Dr. Maria Antonia N. Tanchuling and Engr. Alfonso A. Aliga Jr., this partnership has led to the creation of a special scholarship program for selected mining engineering students.

Under the program, underprivileged students are granted scholarships to complete their education. This effort is one of many initiatives Orica has taken through the years to help shape a new generation of mining engineering graduates who will have developed an in-depth knowledge of how to sustainably mobilize earth’s resources and attain a positive and prosperous future through the efforts of Orica’s diverse global team of thought leaders.

‘Not One Inch’ interactive exhibit on WPS

Pinoy Aksyon (Pilipino Aksyon for Governance and the Environment), a volunteer-run non-profit organization, takes another route and chooses the information and education route through a highly interactive exhibit that will showcase the historical, social, environmental, economic, and geopolitical aspects of the WPS issue in one venue.

Called “Not One Inch: Our Seas, Our Hope,” the exhibit runs from Nov. 13 to 23 (except Nov. 19), at Robinsons Galleria Activity Center, Level 1 Atrium. It will showcase photos, videos, and other narratives of the fisherfolk of the coastal community of Masinloc, Zambales–one of the communities benefiting from the waters of the WPS, the unique biodiversity under the sea, a timeline that explains the history of WPS from pre-colonial times to the present, a “tunnel,” and many more.

Not One Inch emphasizes rich marine ecosystems in the WPS and offers Filipinos a historical perspective on the WPS issue. Beginning with China’s 11-dash line in 1947 to the present-day stand-offs and collision at contested shoals, Not One Inch chronicles a historical timeline of the Chinese incursion on the WPS with archival photos and news clips from several television networks, including PTV 4, ANC, CNN Philippines, and GMA News.
