OLFU 50th founding anniversary
The College of Nursing of the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) in Valenzuela City envisions to form highly professional men and women imbued with the sense of mission to care for the sick.
Fifty years after its first batch of graduates in 1973, the OLFU – Valenzuela campus has become the home of many topnotchers in the Nursing board exams and the seedbed of some of the most caring nurses the country has ever produced.
A month after celebrating International Nurses Day (May 12), the OLFU-Valenzuela campus celebrates its 50th founding anniversary and grand alumni homecoming on June 24 at the RISE Tower corner Fatima Ave. and McArthur Highway, Valenzuela City.
Registration starts at 4:00 PM.
The weeklong celebrations kicked off last Sunday with its annual free medical-dental clinics at the quadrangle of the Valenzuela campus. Rendering services were students and faculty members of the College of Nursing and some alumni who have come home from the US and Europe to attend the Gala Night on Saturday.

Dragonpay partners with Wix
Payment gateway Dragonpay has partnered with Wix.com Ltd. , a leading global SaaS platform to create, manage and grow an online presence, providing Wix’s Philippine-based merchants access to Dragonpay’s payment gateway, enabling them to accept seamless and secure digital payments.
Through this partnership, Wix merchants in the Philippines can connect to Dragonpay and process credit cards, and a variety of other payment methods including cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Tether (USDT), providing a seamless online shopping experience for their customers. This also gives merchants a wider market reach, ultimately leading to increased sales and revenues.

The integration with Dragonpay gives our merchants in the Philippines more choice and flexibility in the payment methods they offer their customers, enabling them to remain competitive, increase conversions and ultimately grow their revenues,” said Amit Sagiv and Volodymyr Tsukur, co-heads of Wix Payments.
HWB awardee
In less than two years in the Philippine market, Y.O.U Beauty brand and its products bagged multiple awards from different media publications, social media platforms, and recently in Watsons, one of the most promising, leading O+O (offline plus online) health, wellness and beauty retailers in Asia, also available in SM Beauty and Look.
Last May 12, Watsons staged its annual HWB Awards in Shangri-La The Fort, Manila where Y.O.U Beauty was nominated in different categories, and was able to score a special award for, “Cosmetic Brand Of The Year For The Eyes” and two major awards, “Most Successful New Brand Of The Year” and a new category on the roster, “Game Changer of The Year”, making Y.O.U Beauty the first-ever brand to be recognized with this award.

Pueblo de Oro livelihood programs
PUEBLO DE ORO Development Corp. (PDO), the residential development arm of the ICCP Group, in collaboration with Odyssey Foundation, Inc. (OFI) and the ICCP Group Foundation Inc. (IGFI), provided kabuhayan packages to community women from various barangays in Malvar, Batangas. The livelihood package includes CDO Foodsphere items as well as essentials for starting a food cart business, such as a gas burner, cooking utensils, a steamer, a styro box, a table, and an umbrella
The Department of Science and Technology-Calabarzon (DOST-Calabarzon) also provided the recipients with an orientation on fundamental food hygiene and food safety issues. IGFI and OFI also perform regular monitoring to verify the viability and profitability of the microbusinesses.
The food cart program is among PDO’s social welfare initiatives aimed at providing livelihood opportunities to its adopted communities in their project sites in Cagayan de Oro, Batangas, Pampanga, and Cebu. The projects provide vulnerable members of the community, including people with disabilities (PWDs) and single parents, the chance to earn a respectable livelihood by providing capital, training, and monthly monitoring.
49th dealership
Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) will soon be opening its doors at the highly urbanized City of Valenzuela in Metro Manila.
In a 2,000 -square meter land on Mac Arthur Highway Corner Bartolome street in Valenzuela City, Isuzu plans to build its 49th dealership to be operated by long-time dealer principal Industrial & Transport Equipment, Inc. (INTECO), the same dealer group handling Isuzu dealerships in Quezon Avenue, EDSA, Pampanga, Pangasinan, and Baguio.
Isuzu Valenzuela will support the new Isuzu Outlet Standard (IOS) design, highlighting a modern and conducive ambiance for customer journey with a spacious showroom and service shop to receive more customers. The dealership can accommodate 4-unit display including trucks, a customer lounge, service reception with a parts & accessories display area. While the service shop is designed to cater from light to heavy-duty vehicles, with 4 light commercial vehicle bays, 4 light-duty truck bays and 1 heavy-duty truck bay with provisions for further expansions in the future.
Home Credit launches Pride Club
Home Credit Philippines, an award-winning diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) organization and equal opportunity employer formally announced the establishment of its Pride Club, a collective of LGBTQ+ identifying Home Credit employees tasked to be the company’s workplace inclusion champions.
With 200 members and counting across the Philippines, the Home Credit Pride Club is positioned to lead the company’s Pride at Home Credit Philippines activities. Last June 14, the club launched a manifesto video #AtHomeKaDito, featuring the officers of the club sharing how Home Credit is an equal opportunity employer and encouraging job seekers to join the company.
“We wanted to represent the LGBTQ+ employees of Home Credit and share how the company supports and empowers us. Our pride video is a glimpse of how diverse our employees are in terms of SOGIE and how we are celebrated for our contributions regardless of our gender orientation and identity. As a proud trans woman, I have always felt at home in my five years of being a Home Credit employee,” said Janna De Castro, collections project specialist and president of the HCPH Pride Club.

Forging stronger bonds
The UDENNA Foundation partnered with the Malaking Munti Foundation in a Father & Son Summer Camp held in Capas, Tarlac last May 12 to 14.
The event, held at Ciendasara, Barangay Lawy, and hosted by members of the creative agency, IdeasXMachina Group of Hakuhodo, saw its participants engage in several activities, including crafting and flying kites, learning how to start a fire without matches or a lighter, cooking rice in bamboo, and basic first aid administration, among other activities, games, prizes and freebies.
This was the first-ever Father & Son Summer Camp hosted by the Malaking Munti Foundation, an organization initially founded to enable children to dream big and achieve greatness from small beginnings through organizing fun, educational and grassroots-based initiatives.
Donations from several brands, including Wendy’s Philippines were also shared with its participants, boys aged 7 to 14 years old, with their accompanying fathers, during the event.
Uratex renews partnership with POA
Uratex has renewed its partnership with the Philippine Orthopaedic Association (POA) for another five years.
The renewed partnership between Uratex and the POA aims to strengthen the importance of sleep in the total health and well-being of individuals through the latter’s certification of Uratex-produced products. The partnership event was attended by representatives from both organizations led by Uratex managing director Peachy Medina and Uratex Sleep business director Stephen Lee with leaders from the POA Dr. David Algar, president; Dr. Melito Antonio Ramos, vice president and; Dr. JaC Pimentel, secretary.
