CFCI launches Cooltech

Centro Nippon Fruehauf Cooltech Inc. recently introduced  the Cooltech brand, which produces quality refrigerated van (refvan) bodies designed to meet the specific needs of the cold chain industry, ensuring that the products being transported are kept at the required temperature throughout the journey.

Infobip launches blueprint for customer communications

Global cloud communications platform Infobip has launched a new Conversational Everything Blueprint to enable brands to embed conversational experiences for customer communications.

Infobip has developed the guide to help businesses stay ahead of the growing trend towards more personalized, end-to-end customer journeys from promotion to purchase and support through popular chat apps.

Financing for LBC clients

LBC Express Inc., Aboitiz Data Innovation (ADI), and Union Bank of the Philippines (signed a tripartite agreement to champion financial sustainability at the inaugural AI Summit in the Philippines.

Through this initiative, LBC clients will have access to small business financing from UnionBank to help finance their expansion plans.

The agreement will leverage ADI’s AI-powered scoring service to evaluate LBC customers, making it possible for UnionBank to extend loans intelligently and confidently to identified clients.

Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is also a strategic focus for UnionBank.  Through this initiative, the country’s leading digital bank intends to tap into the “small” informal businesses sector.

10M users

PalawanPay now serves 10 million users, making it one of the fastest-growing e-wallet apps in the Philippines.

PalawanPay continues to gain popularity among Filipinos with its impressive rank as the second most downloaded e-wallet app in the Google Play store and the 10th in the Apple store.

This growth is fueled by the app’s wide array of financial solutions such as its unique send money feature that enables customers to transfer funds and cash out from any of the 10,000 authorized branches and agents of Palawan Express Pera Padala located throughout the country.

Sukis of the app can also enjoy the benefits of more affordable cash-in and cash-out rates with PalawanPay, resulting in significant savings. The app also offers a lower Instapay fee of only 10 pesos to send money to other banks and e-wallets in comparison to the P25  charged by its competitors.

Lalamove  appointment

NACARIO

Lalamove named Djon Nacario as the new managing director in the Philippines.

Overseeing the leadership of Lalamove’s business in the Philippines, Nacario plays an instrumental role from business strategy to operations. He will lead the team to further enhance the brand as the trusted delivery partner.

Before joining Lalamove Philippines, Nacario was managing director of Carousell Philippines, and country head of Agoda in various Southeast Asian markets.

Herbosa joins Ovialand board

HERBOSA

Ovialand Inc. announced that Emmanuel Herbosa, former president and CEO of Development Bank of Philippines (DBP), has joined the company’s board as an independent director.

Herbosa brings with him more than 40 years of experience in the financial industry. He started his career with Bank of the Philippines Islands in 1979 and progressed through the ranks up until his retirement in 2013.

Herbosa returned from retirement in 2014, serving as  EVP  for Bank of Commerce, then  president and CEO of Philippine Import-Export Credit Agency.

From 2019 to 2023,  Herbosa was the president and CEO of DBP.

Security Bank  opens 2 branches in MM

Security Bank Corp. opened a new Branch Lite in Intramuros, Manila and the relocation site of its current branch in Banawe, Quezon City.

The Intramuros Branch Lite is located on the ground floor of the Herald Building at 61 Muralla street. The Branch Lite features a compact set-up equipped with a Virtual Nook, which is a dedicated area wherein clients can have calls with Security Bank’s Investment experts.

The bank has also relocated its Banawe Branch from GLC Building to Maro RLMC Building, to better serve and welcome more clients in Quezon City’s prime business district.

1M  safe man-hours

Aboitiz Construction, Inc. (ACI) recently achieved a milestone of one million safe man-hours without lost-time injury for their project in Parañaque City. The project involved the construction of a 26,000-square-meter warehouse and office buildings for LBC Express and took place from June 2021 to April 2023.

To promote and ensure site safety, ACI regularly conducts emergency response drills, safety awareness sessions, toolbox meetings, and site inspections and audits.

“This achievement is a clear testament to our commitment towards safety. Across all our project sites, we prioritize safety and uphold operational excellence as we build quality structures for our clients. We are continuously striving to comply with the safety requirements set by the Department of Labor and Employment and the businesses that we work with,” said ACI COO Ramez Sidhom.

The soon-to-be-completed Parañaque hub is the largest warehouse facility of LBC Express by far. Once finished, it will make for more efficient logistics and parcel delivery across the world.

ACI has directly provided job opportunities to 393 manpower and subcontracted a total of 301 workers for this project alone.
