CEB restarts Clark hub

Cebu Pacific on April 21 restarted  its Clark hub by relaunching flights and increasing frequencies from Clark International Airport. 

CEB flew its inaugural flights from Clark to Bacolod, Boracay, Davao, and Bangkok . The airline previously announced  it would operate a combined 15 destinations from its Clark hub. 

CEB will also increase frequencies to four of its Clark routes: Boracay, Davao, Hong Kong and Cebu.

The relaunch of its Clark hub allows Cebu Pacific to continue providing great value for its passengers, with an additional 10,000 seats per month and fares for both domestic and international flights 30 percent lower than their pre-pandemic average. It will also boost the airline’s network from its Clark hub and reestablish it as an important gateway for local and international travelers.

To support this expansion, CEB is set to take delivery of three additional aircraft which will be based in Clark. These are on top of the 10 new Airbus NEO aircraft that will be delivered in 2023 to expand the airline’s fleet.

Isuzu PH  launches latest edition of D-MAX,  mu-X

Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC)  introduced its latest edition of the Isuzu D-MAX and Isuzu mu-X at Alabang Town Center on April 21 to 23 at the Isuzu Summer Music Festival.

IPC displayed its new Isuzu D-MAX and mu-X along with other activities, such as free test drive, afternoon games, dog show, car club meet-up and live performances from well-loved OPM artists to entertain the whole family.

The new Isuzu D-MAX is now made even more dynamic and sporty with a redesigned exterior that boasts a new two-tone front grille matched with its new matte dark gray 18-inch alloy wheels all laden in its new body color Islay Gray, giving it a rugged yet stylish look.

The new mu-X was  highlighted as a “Premium Family SUV” that’s perfect for road trips, especially this summer season. The premium SUV’s fresh new look brought by its new sleek two-tone front grille and new 20-inch alloy wheels design exudes an upscale and luxurious vibe, elevating its exterior design. 

Scheirman Construction chooses Kia K2500 4×4

Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc. (SCCI) has chosen the Kia K2500 4×4 double cab drop side as its do-it-all workhorse.

Armando Inabangan Jr., chief strategy officer and director at SCCI said: “The K2500 suits our very demanding requirements, and because of its unique 4×4 configuration, it makes for a very ideal fleet vehicle for our construction company. We need a dependable truck to arrive at its destination–no matter what.”

The K2500 also wears the crown for being one of the most powerful vehicles in its class. Under the cab is a 2.5-liter CRDi turbodiesel that delivers 130ps at 3,800rpm and 255Nm of torque from 1,500rpm to 3,500rpm. Mated to this powerful and efficient motor is a 6-speed transmission which allows for better fuel efficiency and flexibility whether on the open road or while navigating gridlock in urbanized areas.

“The  K2500 is unique because it is the only light-duty truck in the Philippine market equipped with a 4×4 drivetrain,” saod Kia Philippines president Manny Aligada. “This means maximum traction despite drastic changes in weather and road conditions. This kind of capability gives SCCI the confidence to tackle any unforeseen challenges–even after the paved road ends. 

The 10 K2500 units were received at the SCCI office in RS City Square, Ortigas avenue Extension in Cainta. 

BPI gets award from PDS Group

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) was awarded as one of the Top 5 Fixed Income Dealing Participants (Rank 5) by the prestigious PDS Group at the recently held 2023 PDS Annual Awards.

PDS conferred the award to BPI for being one of the top performers in 2022 in terms of fixed income volume dealt in the secondary market through the Bloomberg platform.

Pilmico records over 5M safe man-hours

Pilmico Foods Corp. achieved over 5 million safe man-hours total across its feed mills. 

There have been 3 million safe man-hours without lost time incidents for its feed and flour mill facility in Iligan from July 2022 to March 2023, and 2 million safe man-hours in its Tarlac feed mill from November 2021 to 2023.

To promote safety in the workplace, the feed mills conduct regular safety awareness training, site inspections, hazard and risk identification, and toolbox meetings. Pilmico also ensures that all team members, including visitors and clients, follow strict safety protocols and biosecurity measures in place. 

On average per month, Pilmico’s facilities in Tarlac and Iligan house nearly 2,200 team members, both organic and subcontractors.

P&G among  top companies in PH

Ligtas Kits reach Nueva Ecija

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. are boosting the disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) efforts of the City Government of Palayan, the provincial capital of Nueva Ecija, with the Ligtas Kit.

Each Ligtas Kit  comes with an emergency communications training to be conducted by PLDT and Smart together with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation.

Packed in a protective hard case, the PLDT and Smart Ligtas Kit includes communications equipment such as portable generator, satellite panel, satellite phone, smartphone, pocket WiFi, crank radio, flashlights and whistles to serve the communication needs of Palayan’s residents during disasters.

Both the emergency communications equipment and learning session will help equip communities with knowledge and skills on disaster preparedness and emergency response.

The PLDT and Smart Ligtas Kit aims to cultivate a culture of preparedness and build smarter and more resilient communities through inclusive mobile technology. 

Partnership for agro-entrepreneurship

Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF), the social development arm of Jollibee Group, and the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) recently signed a memorandum of understanding, which aims to further enrich their efforts in developing the entrepreneurial capacity of smallholder producers and link to agriculture value chains. 

The agreement  focuses on further promoting sustainable agricultural practices through technology transfer, access to knowledge, and tools to enhance productivity. It also aims to improve research and development activities to bring forth science and technology-based solutions for agri-aqua enterprises. The program also includes networking and market linkages to ensure the viability of agro-enterprises.

This initiative also supports JGF’s Farmer Entrepreneurship Program (FEP), which empowers and helps smallholder farmers sharpen their technical and business acumen, as well as partnership-building skills. FEP uses the Agro-Enterprise Clustering Approach to assist farmer groups supplying Jollibee Group and other markets.

To date, Jollibee Group has accredited 18 farmer groups across the country that supply more than 9,000 metric tons of vegetables to the company, which accounts for more than P360 million in total sales.

Teleperformance receives wellness supplies

Teleperformance Philippines recently held a program review and ceremonial turnover of wellness supplies and KISS (Keep It Safe & Sure) dispensers as part of their HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) in the Workplace Policy, at Teleperformance Vertis North site.

The main highlight of the event was the ceremonial turnover of the KISS dispensers, which was provided in partnership with the Department of Health through their Project Red Ribbon Care Management Foundation and Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc. as part of the Comprehensive Corporate HIV Program. The dispensers include condoms, lubricants, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PreP), and HIV testing. In addition, counseling was made available, and a demonstration of HIV testing was made at the site. 

The program also aimed to have a review of Teleperformance’s HIV policy, culture journey, as well as the milestones achieved by the initiative that began way back 2015, which makes Teleperformance a safe and healthier workplace for all. The policy seeks to provide continuous drive for testing and education through e-learning, safeguard health and wellness, and have people-initiated transformation with their 3A’s (adapt, adopt, advocate) Model, which has produced more than 80 advocates around the country and continues to increase.
