Cebu Pacific hails top travel agencies

Cebu Pacific recognized its top performing travel agencies from the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region as it held the 17th edition of the annual Eagle Wings Awards, the first since 2019.

A total of 62 agencies from CEB’s local and international stations were conferred with the Eagle Wings Award in a three-day event held from March 21 to 23, 2023 at Modala Beach Resort in Panglao, Bohol.

The Eagle Wings Awards is held annually to recognize CEB’s top domestic and international producers in terms of ticket sales, as well as their contributions to the overall success of the airline. Leading the travel agency awardees is Manila-based Via Philippines Travel Corp. for being the airline’s top-selling producer for 2022, followed by GI Philippines Corp., Universal Storefront Services, Ticket1 Travel, and TheAtlas Pte. Ltd.

Rounding out this list are Beijing Shuozoujiuzou Technology Co. Ltd., Pinoy Tourism LLC., Beijing Daran Aviation Service Co. Ltd., Tabeer Tourism LLC., and Nam Thanh Travel Joint Stock.

Top importer

SEAOIL continues to top the list of importers in the Zamboanga Peninsula, according to the 2022 Top Importers report of the Bureau of Customs in Zamboanga.

For three consecutive years, SEAOIL has been a top importer in the port of Zamboanga. In 2022, the company brought an import revenue of almost ₱10 billion, which is nearly double its import revenue from 2021 that totaled more than ₱5 billion.

SEAOIL is awarded as the Top Importer in 2022 by the Bureau of Customs Zamboanga for its import revenue contribution of almost ₱10 billion. 

SEAOIL has over 25 stations operating in the Zamboanga Peninsula alone, with more to open this year. The fuel provider is also slated to open a depot in the Zamboanga Economic Zone in Zamboanga City in the early part of 2024. 

Petron co-presented Manila International Auto Show 2023

Industry leader PETRON Corporation co-presented one of the most highly-anticipated events for car enthusiasts, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), held from April 13 to 16 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila. On display were some 200 cars, trucks, and motorcycles which were viewed by 120,000 visitors over the four-day auto show.

Petron, as co-presentor, had a booth in the World Trade Center lobby to welcome visitors. Here, motoring enthusiasts had the chance to channel their karting/racing dreams by posing for photos in the racing go-kart display, or at the finishing podium with a checkered flag backdrop. This emphasized Petron’s extensive support for Philippine motorsports.

In the main hall, the Petron lounge showed the full range of Petron fuels. Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6 bannered the MIAS-Petron Custom and Classic Car Competition, one of the highlights of the 4-day event. It benefits all vehicle types, from well-loved classic vintage cars to the latest ultra-performance muscle cars.

RCBC is Best Retail Bank

The Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. was named the Best Retail Bank at the prestigious RBI Asia Trailblazer Awards 2023 for the third consecutive year.

The RBI Asia Trailblazers Awards recognizes best-in-class retail banking and consumer finance institutions and individuals for their innovative service offering and commitment to customer excellence.

The 14th RBI Asia Trailblazers Awards was organized in collaboration with Middle East Economic Digest (MEED), UAE, and GlobalData (Singapore).

RCBC’s Digital Enterprise and Innovations Group (DEIG) also bagged the Best CSR Initiative for Financial Literacy, and a Highly Commended recognition for Best Credit Card Initiative.

RCBC was particularly recognized for its unique and innovative initiatives, including the RCBC Digital’s Online Account Opening Platform, RCBC OneAccount, RCBC Hexagon Club, and Digital Concierge.

PLDT Enterprise fuels ‘myTOYOTA Connect’

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) and PLDT recently announced a partnership that will further drive the benefits of smart connected cars and intelligent platforms technology for major fleet business operators and Toyota car owners.  

PLDT, through its B2B solutions arm PLDT Enterprise, is firing up TMP’s newest suite of connected services, the myTOYOTA Connect, with smart IoT (Internet of Things) eSIM solutions powered by PLDT wireless unit Smart — the first of its kind solution to be rolled out in the Philippines.  

 With reliable connectivity from PLDT’s Smart IoT Platform, TMP is able to maximize the potential of a unified connectivity management platform. GMA Network  in Russia

Through its content distribution arm GMA Worldwide, GMA Network sold 248 hours of content, which will be dubbed in Russian, to a leading Russian broadcaster. 

The acquired titles are Lolong (Crocodile Whisperer), Love You Stranger, Return to Paradise, Artikulo 247 (Article 247), First Yaya (The First Nanny), Love You Two, and Kapag Nahati Ang Puso (Broken Hearts).

Through this partnership in Russia, a first for GMA Network, Russian viewers will experience and enjoy the best of Filipino entertainment. 

SM, BDO receive awards

SM Investments Corp. and BDO Unibank Inc. received Platinum Awards for excellence in corporate sustainability from Hong Kong-based multimedia company The Asset Publishing and Research Ltd.

SM Investments and BDO were recognized for their sustained excellence in environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, with SM Investments receiving the Platinum Award for the 14th consecutive year and BDO receiving its 13th Platinum Award.

“Celebrating this Platinum Award from The Asset ESG Awards is an honor and a testament to our unwavering commitment to environmental, social, and governance excellence. We are grateful for the recognition,” said Timothy Daniels, SM Investments Consultant for Investor Relations and Sustainability.

Empowering online MSMEs

BillEase and ChatGenie have embarked on a partnership to empower micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSME).

Consultation event

Recently, Dean Maw-Sheng Lee  of Lee Women’s Hospital led the elite team of infertility physicians and representatives from the international affairs department to hold the second IVF Baby Reunion and Consultation Fair in Manila.

Around 350 Filipinos have signed up for this event, and over 50 former patients came with their families to meet with Dean Lee.

Peiyung Hsu, representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines attended the event and noted that Lee Women’s Hospital has helped over 800 Filipino couples to become parents. With these achievements of Lee Women’s Hospital, this have surpassed those of other Asian countries such as Singapore, Thailand, China, Japan, and Korea, making Lee Women’s Hospital the No.1 reproductive center in Asia. Ambassador Hsu also welcomed Filipino couples to visit Taiwan and seek help from Lee Women’s Hospital. 

The consultation events in the morning and afternoon were led by elite teams from Lee Women’s Hospital. Infertility physician Dr. Ting-Feng Wu introduced the details of IVF treatments and the latest technologies in Lee Women’s Hospital. During the one-on-one consultation session, over 100 couples had a chance to consult with Dr. Wu and representatives from the international affairs department of Lee Women’s Hospital.

In the fourth quarter of 2023, Lee Women’s Hospital will hold another consultation event in the Philippines.
