CREIT wins Best IPO Award

Citicore Energy REIT Corp.’s (CREIT)  initial public offering (IPO) was hailed as the Best IPO for the Philippines in The Asset Triple A Country Awards for Sustainable Finance 2022. 

The Awarding Ceremony was held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Hong Kong on February 23.

“This is the first renewable energy-focused real estate investment trust (REIT) in the Philippines with a unique green asset portfolio to list in the PSE. As such, it was structured differently from other local REITs as all deposited properties are leased out to renewable energy generators,” The Asset said in a statement.

BingoPlus supports golf tournaments

BingoPlus, the first and only live-streaming bingo in the Philippines,  has made golf its pet project this February.

BingoPlus is one of the Platinum sponsors of the 51st Golden Tee Invitational Tournament at Manila Golf and Country Club, which was held on February 9.

PH joins Berlin travel event

The Philippines is all set to reintroduce itself as a world-class tourist destination at the Internationale Tourismus-Bí¶rse (ITB) Berlin Convention on March 7 to 9  in Messe Berlin, Germany.  

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, in line with the initiative of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Central and Frankfurt offices, will have the opportunity to market and promote the Philippines as a tourism powerhouse to over 160,000 visitors expected to attend the world’s largest travel and tourism trade fair. 

DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco and TPB chief operating officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles will lead the Philippine delegation in turning the spotlight on the country’s tourism developments and product offerings.

Stronger cloud connection

Radius Telecoms Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Meralco, has partnered with telecommunications solutions providers Gur Lavi Corp. (GLC) and Unison Computer Systems Inc. to expand its cloud service offerings to its customers.

This partnership will allow Radius to include in its solutions portfolio GLC’s TeLavi Unified Communications Platform, a Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) model that will help business organizations increase productivity by empowering the team members to work together more effectively anywhere, on any device.

Webinar on Gen Zs

Generation Z (or Gen Z) is increasingly influencing how households are purchasing and consuming. 

This was the central theme of the Zoom webinar held last February 17 by Araneta City for its lessees. Titled The Gen Z Shopper, the webinar tapped JP Yamsuan, associate director for Consumer Insights of Nielsen Philippines, to help the City of Firsts’ lessees garner the attention of this young, up and coming subsect of society.

In the Philippines, Gen Zs comprise 30 percent of the entire population. This is why, according to Yamsuan, it is imperative to capture the attention of this generation of people. “It is definitely a sizable market, it’s a sizable segment. We definitely have to make sure that we are seen and heard by the Gen Z population.”

Yamsuan also delved deeper into four characteristics that make Gen Z unique: digitally connected, visual creatures, craving authenticity, and woke. 

IPO awareness

At a signing ceremony held last February 8 at the UnionBank Plaza in Pasig City, Union Bank of the Philippines, UnionBank GlobalLinker, and AB Capital & Investment Corp. teamed up to promote financial literacy focused on financial market education for Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).  

Through the partnership, Filipino MSMEs will be given access to various resources designed to equip them with knowledge on initial public offerings (IPOs) and other topics related to becoming publicly listed. With the increased opportunities for business and growth, MSMEs can be prepared to transition from medium companies to become larger ones.

The partnership is  preparing to roll out its first batch of activities in line with the partnership, beginning with a webinar to be co-hosted by the Philippine Stock Exchange this coming March 1, which aims to “strengthen the awareness of MSMEs on IPO listing as a viable capital raising platform to spur business growth.”

UnionDigital Bank partnership with the Aboitiz Group to push financial inclusion

UnionDigital Bank, the fully digital bank subsidiary of UnionBank of the Philippines, has signed a strategic partnership resolution with 14 other subsidiaries of the Aboitiz Group which will allow the digital bank to tap into the Group’s ecosystem in providing banking and financial services to their customers.
