West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. participated in the immediate provision of relief goods for people affected by the recent onslaught of Typhoon “Karding”.
As part of the Tulong Kapatid efforts of the MVP Group of Companies, Maynilad turned over 1,700 pieces of bottled water through the Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD) for distribution to affected families in Polillo Island and Aurora. It also provided 50 sacks of rice for affected families in San Mateo, Rizal through the Alagan

Dragonpay posts growth
Dragonpay, one of the pioneers of alternative payments in the Philippines, reported that its transaction volume in the past 12 months doubled compared to the same period the year before.
By the end of August this year, Dragonpay had processed over 140 million transactions.
Dragonpay’s manpower also grew by 200 percent during the pandemic alone, while its payment channel partners are now more than 50,000 including the country’s major banks with online banking, payment centers, retail establishments, and leading e-wallets.
It also has over 3,000 partner merchants from different industries including government, schools, retail, groceries, real estate, gaming, tech, food, insurance and more.
Dragonpay enables its merchants to accept popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, USD Tether, BinancePay, and many others. Dragonpay also provides Buy Now Pay Later services by partnering with Billease, Cashalo, and Tendopay.

BillEase and PayMongo announced the launch of their strategic partnership to help retailers drive growth through a transparent card-free BNPL service.
Retailers using PayMongo can now offer BillEase as an installment option at checkout, providing consumers a seamless shopping experience.
Through BillEase, online and offline retailers can offer shoppers three installment options at checkout: Pay Later in 10 or 20 days; pay in 4 installments for small-to-medium ticket purchases; and Pay Monthly over three, six, nine, or 12 months for big purchases with interest rates between 0 percent and 3.49 percent — the cheapest rate in the country. Retailers can also choose to offer 0 percent annual percentage rate (APR) via PayMongo. For example, a P15,000 purchase would only cost P3,350 over three months at 0 percent APR with only 1/3 upfront payment.
Aboitiz Data Innovation joins Shiptek Solutions

Digital tools help sellers thrive online
Shopee recently held the second iteration of the Shopee University Roadshow and Shopee Kumustahan in Mandaue City, Cebu–two events designed to support MSMEs through expert-led learning sessions, as well as discussions with Shopee sellers, who successfully grew their businesses on the platform.

Former DTI chief joins Packworks
Packworks, a local startup that provides a business-to-business (B2B) open platform to sari-sari stores, announced the addition of former Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon M. Lopez and three other industry leaders to its Board of Advisors.
Joining ex-DTI chief Lopez to the pack are Angkas founder Angeline Tham, ZQR Corp. founder and CEO Simon Paterno and CEO and vice chairman Arthur Tan.
“The inclusion of these distinguished leaders in the industry will greatly help us in achieving our goals to provide an open platform not only to our million sari-sari store owners in the country, but also to other huge brand companies. Digital inclusion will help these ‘sari-preneurs’ to accelerate their game in the retail industry,” said Ibba Bernardo, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Packworks.
Packworks’ Sari Superstore App provides a free one-stop app for “sari-preneurs” where they can process their business’ inventory, bookkeeping, and data collection. The app also offers delivery services for store owners when their supply is low.

In a recently conducted survey by IQVIA among random food supplement consumers, Santé ranks highest regarding brand awareness among barley supplement users.
The survey indicates that more and more people are learning about barley grass’s many health benefits, including its high levels of antioxidants and vitamins A and C.
