Malabon City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Thames International University in Paris, France, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to public service and leadership in the development of Philippine cities.
Dr. Rosete received the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration and Leadership under the university’s Honoris Causa Doctorate Policies. The accolade highlights his unwavering commitment to delivering quality service to the communities he serves.
“Galak sa puso ang ating nararamdaman nang ating matanggap ang prestihiyosong parangal na ito. Ito ay nagpapatunay sa ating patuloy na pagbibigay ng dekalidad na serbisyo bilang opisyal ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Malabon, sa pangunguna ng ating kagalang-galang na Mayor Jeannie Sandoval,” Dr. Rosete said. “Ito ay magsisilbing inspirasyon sa atin upang ipagpatuloy ang mga nasimulan, gumawa ng mga programa para sa mga kapwa mamamayan, at isulong ang pagkakaisa sa pagtupad sa ating mga layunin at pangarap.”
Dr. Rosete has played a pivotal role in Malabon City as both the administrator and concurrent head of the City Housing and Urban Development Department. His initiatives include the socialized housing program and “Lupa Para Sa Mga Walang Lupa,” which aim to provide safe and secure homes for Malabuenos.
Before his tenure in Malabon, Dr. Rosete held key positions in Manila’s Urban Settlements Office and the Philippine Red Cross, where he served as Chief of Staff to the Secretary-General, Director of Human Resources and Administration, Fund Generation Director, Communication Manager, and Chairperson of the Bids and Awards Committee. He continues to serve on the Board of Directors for the Philippine Red Cross-Malabon City Chapter and as National President of the Bangon Bayanihan Movement.
Dr. Rosete’s academic contributions include lecturing at esteemed institutions such as the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication Graduate School, Holy Angel University Graduate School of Communication, and City of Malabon University School of Graduate Studies.
In 2024, he presented at international conferences including the International Conference on Urban Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in New York; Housing Studies Association Conference in Manchester, UK; and Joint Asia Pacific Network for Housing Research-Australasian Housing Research Conference in Adelaide, Australia. His presentations focused on local governance strategies, effective communication, digital technology integration, and combating misinformation.
His dissertation titled Management of Manila’s Land for the Landless Housing Services Program for Forty Years: Basis for Development Plan earned him the Best Dissertation award from De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU). He was also recognized as DLSAU’s Outstanding Alumnus in both research (2025) and government service (2024).
“Sa ating patuloy na pagbuo ng mga programa para sa mga mamamayan ng lungsod ng Malabon, tayo ay patuloy na magiging bukas sa mga bagong kaalaman upang mas mapabuti ang ating pagbibigay ng serbisyo,” Dr. Rosete said. “Ang parangal na ito ay siyang nagpapatunay ng ating dedikasyon sa pagbibigay ng maayos, maganda, at napapanahong mga programa para sa mga mamamayan.”
