Makati Medical Center earns Philippines’ first JCI 8th Edition Accreditation

Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed) became the first hospital in the Philippines to achieve accreditation under the Joint Commission International (JCI) 8th Edition Accreditation Standards following a survey conducted February 17-21, 2025.

The latest JCI edition establishes a higher benchmark for quality and patient safety, with increased focus on risk reduction strategies, data-driven performance improvement and enhanced patient-centered care.

JCI surveyors performed a comprehensive assessment of MakatiMed’s systems, procedures and patient care protocols. They praised the hospital for its best practices, commitment to quality and dedication to patient safety while providing recommendations to further enhance operational excellence.
