Celebrating global sounds and Filipino jazz culture at SM MOA and Asia Pacific College
The Philippine International Jazz Festival (PIJazzfest) returns this June with its 19th edition, themed “Beyond Borders: Music for the World”—a celebration of jazz’s power to unite cultures and generations.

World-renowned a cappella group Straight No Chaser kicks off the festivities with a free public performance. The nine-man ensemble brings their signature harmonies and high-energy show to Manila as part of their Asian tour.

Hosted by Harvard scholar and jazz historian Jazzyphar, the evening features:
- Jerome Rico – Awit Award-winning fingerstyle guitarist
- Anibal Ansin – Argentinian tango singer with dancers Jang & Jenn
- Anima Tierra – Genre-blending world music group
- Velvet Jazz – Smooth contemporary ensemble
- Black Cows – Steely Dan tribute band
Between sets, enjoy the PIJazz Lounge with food from Aristocrat and Casa Trinidad, plus music pop-ups, a tattoo booth by Janeea Miss Treat, a jazz history talk by Richie Quirino, and an Open Jam session.
Since its founding in 2006 by Jun and Sandra Viray, Edgar “Koyang” Avenir, and Zenaida Celdran, PIJazzfest has stayed true to its mission of bringing jazz closer to Filipino audiences. From its grassroots beginnings, it has grown into one of the country’s most respected music festivals—a yearly celebration of jazz lovers, artists, and curious newcomers, all drawn by the joy of music.
