Best transport company
International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has been recognized as the best transport company in the Philippines by financial magazine Asiamoney.
ICTSI, the largest port operator in the country, emerged as the most outstanding company under the Transport Sector category of the Asia’s Outstanding Companies Poll 2021 by the magazine. The citation was based on the company’s financial performance, management team excellence, investor relations, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Winning the award for the second time since 2019, ICTSI joins 189 other publicly listed companies that were voted by some 1,071 managers, buy-side analysts, bankers, and research analysts.
ICTSI’s global portfolio currently includes 34 terminals in 20 countries in the Asia Pacific, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Including its flagship Manila International Container Terminal at the Port of Manila, ICTSI operates 11 terminals in the Philippines.
Since the start of the pandemic, ICTSI has responded proactively and inclusively to ensure terminal operations worldwide continue unimpeded and disruptions to the local supply chains remain minimal.
In the Philippines, ICTSI led the private sector effort to assist the government in procuring COVID vaccines. The company also donated vaccines to both the national and local governments and shouldered the construction of a mega vaccination facility.
Overseas, ICTSI, through its subsidiaries, is also supporting partner governments and host communities in handling the current health crisis.

BDO Pay for online banking
BDO Unibank said its digital payment app BDO Pay has five key functions that enable clients to do banking transactions and easily manage their finances online.
These features–Send Money, Pay Bills, Scan to Pay, Split Bill, and Request Money–are readily accessible upon downloading the BDO Pay app from Google Play, App Store, or Huawei AppGallery. Using BDO Pay, clients can directly link their BDO account and credit card.
For Send Money, BDO Pay users can send an amount to other BDO Pay users free of charge just by using their phone contacts or by typing in the mobile number of the recipient. Other options are sending money to the recipient’s account number or email address.
Pay Bills, meanwhile, allows BDO Pay users to pay their bills to credit cards, telecoms/internet, electric and water utilities, TV/cable, loans, investment, government, and transportation, among others, without the need to enroll them. Clients can use this feature wherever and whenever they need it, and it is also free of charge.
Scan to Pay enables BDO Pay users to pay various merchants just by scanning their QR code with the users’ mobile phone camera. Payments are reflected in real-time.
With the Split Bill feature, BDO Pay clients can divide group bills with up to five other people and request money in one tap.
BDO Pay users can also Request Money from other users of the digital wallet of up to P50,000 per person.

UDENNA donation
The UDENNA Foundation in partnership with the Philippine Air Force (PAF) Civil-Military Operations Group, Tokyo 2020 Gold Medalist in Women’s 55-kg Weightlifting Ssg. Hidilyn F. Diaz, Worklink Services, Inc., and Phoenix Super LPG, provided 200 food packs to families from Barangay Bagumbayan, Eastwood, Quezon City through the PAF Malasakit Pantry last Sept. 21.
The PAF Malasakit Pantry aims to help communities who suffer from the effects of various lockdowns and loss of livelihoods.
Since the start of the pandemic, the UDENNA Foundation has been exerting efforts in gathering the collective resources of the UDENNA Group and translating them into projects that help the country overcome this pandemic.
UDENNA Foundation commits to continue its efforts in extending help to those in need and collaborate with different sectors to end this pandemic as soon as possible.

First Jollibee in Spain

Jollibee opened its first store in Spain right at the heart of Madrid at Puerta del Sol, Calle Arenal no4 last September 23.
This is one of Jollibee’s biggest openings in Europe, with thousands of customers greeting the opening and the queue starting at 10 p.m. the previous day.
Jollibee Madrid is the brand’s largest restaurant in Europe, with a capacity of about 200 diners,.
For the first time in Madrid, customers were able to try Jollibee’s fan favorites including its world-famous Chickenjoy. Fans were also excited to try Jollibee Europe’s emerging bestsellers, such as the new Spicy Chicken Burger, Sriracha Chicken Loaded Fries, and the popular Tropical Chicken Burger.
The Madrid restaurant introduces Jollibee’s brand redesign for European customers to Spain, aiming to create a memorable experience with bright graphics, bold wall murals, and tiles inspired by woven fabrics.

Pet Express expands
Pet Express moves to expand its retail “paw”print with the opening of three stores this year.
Pet Express will open stores in Grand Central in Monumento, Caloocan; SM Southmall in Las Pinas and in SM Clark in Pampanga within the fourth quarter. The opening of new stores will increase Pet Express stores to 20 by the end of 2021 from the current 17.
Pet Express saw increased volumes and online sales. At end-2020, online sales grew 98 percent versus 2019.
Pet Express is also moving to launch an Online Vet Consultation & Grooming Home service for pet grooming and medical needs.
Pet Express introduced a Click/ Call and Collect service in its stores in the following malls– SM City North EDSA, SM Megamall and SM City Dasmarinas. It has enhanced its presence among online communities and messaging apps and boosted its own online store as well as online flagship stores in e-commerce sites.
Pet Express is also expanding its existing stores in SM North EDSA, SM Makati, Mall of Asia in Pasay City, SM Fairview in Quezon City and SM Molino in Cavite

Facebook Summit
Facebook will host the 3rd Facebook Summit on Tuesday, September 28.
The Summit will feature more than 50 global and regional leaders who will discuss how companies are using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, to better creatively engage and serve their communities.
John Rubio, country director of Facebook Philippineswill open the Summit and will feature Matt Idema, vice presidentof Business Messaging at Facebook.
The Summit will also feature inspiring stories of businesses of all sizes that have displayed resilience, reinventing their business model to adapt to challenges.
The 3rd Facebook Summit sessions are available for free from for one month. People can choose to enjoy the sessions via Livestream, Facebook Watch Anytime library, or listen to podcasts, which are particularly helpful for those that are on the move.

BPI Foundation scholarships
BPI Foundation, the social development arm of BPI, has chosen 10 additional students for its “Pagpupugay” Scholarship program, which aims to support the next of kin of medical front liners who contracted COVID-19 or passed away in the line of duty during the pandemic.
“Pagpupugay” is a scholarship program where each scholar will be provided a maximum of P100,000 scholarship fund per academic year to cover tuition fees and miscellaneous expenses. Five scholars were chosen in 2020, while 10 students were added this year.
