Holcim and Geocycle, in partnership with Circular Explorer, convened government officials, business leaders, scientists, and NGOs to discuss zero-waste strategies during a forum themed “Pioneering Circularity: Advancing Zero-Waste for a Sustainable Future.”
The event featured two sessions focusing on plastic waste management and marine microplastics. DENR’s Atty. Ivy Joyce de Pedro emphasized collaboration as key to the Extended Producer Responsibility law’s success. “The success of the EPR law relies on active collaboration across sectors,” she said, highlighting the need for aligned national and local efforts.

Christine S. Bellen, Project Manager of Circular Explorer, addressed environmental challenges: “We only have one planet, but are living like we have two. The level of consumption, population growth and the need to develop is surpassing the ability of our environment to replenish our resources.”
The forum concluded with Geocycle unveiling its refreshed brand identity, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable waste management and circular economy initiatives. The rebranding aligns with Holcim’s sustainability goals and focuses on innovation and partnerships.
