Hino Motors Philippines celebrates 50 years of excellence

Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) proudly marked its 50th anniversary on January 21, celebrating five decades of innovation, quality, and commitment—core values that define Hino Motors’ Total Support for the Philippine commercial vehicle industry.

The festivities began with a morning tour of HMP’s headquarters and assembly plant in Laguna. Esteemed guests from the media and industry partners were given an exclusive look at Hino’s world-class manufacturing facilities, where trucks, buses, and Hino quality rear bodies are produced.

A highlight of the morning was the rollout of HMP’s 80,000th production unit and a preview of the new FG Bus Concept. This milestone showcases HMP’s exceptional technical and manufacturing capabilities and its commitment to providing comprehensive solutions for customers. The FG Bus Concept continues HMP’s proud legacy in bus building, reaffirming its dedication to reliable mass transport solutions for Filipinos.

The day culminated in a grand evening celebration at OKADA Manila, attended by HMP executives, employees, dealer partners, media friends, and distinguished guests who honored the company’s rich history.

Mr. Satoshi Ogiso, President & CEO of Hino Motors Ltd. (Japan), graced the event. In his speech, he emphasized HMP’s vital role in public mobility and goods transport for Filipinos: “Whenever a Hino PUV transports commuters or one of our trucks delivers goods to customers, our vehicles become vessels that carry people’s everyday missions and aspirations.” He urged embracing change as an opportunity for breakthroughs: “If we are to learn from HMP’s story, it is that change, although daunting at times, should be embraced.”

A special tribute honored HMP Chairman Mr. Vicente Mills Jr., whose leadership has been crucial to the company’s success. Mr. Ogiso remarked, “The success of Hino Motors Philippines would not be possible without his leadership. With you at the helm, Hino remains strong and plays a vital role in public mobility.”

During the anniversary event, well-known Chef Ninong Ry was announced as the new endorser for HMP. This partnership combines his culinary creativity with HMP’s reputation for quality. The event also celebrated significant production milestones with the rollout of the 80,000th unit—the Hino 300 Series 916 – XZU730 with Aluminum Van—demonstrating consistent high-quality vehicle production. Additionally, attendees previewed the new locally developed FG Bus Concept designed for enhanced comfort and reliability in public transportation.
