7% interest with GSave
GCash and CIMB Bank are offering as much as 7 percent per annum on GSave.
Currently the highest interest rate available in the market, the offer is available to GCash users who will sign up for their first GSave account from April 1 to June 30.
The GSave feature has been live in the GCash app since December 2018 in partnership with CIMB Bank. It has been providing unbanked Filipinos with the opportunity to open a savings account that requires no initial deposit, maintaining balance, or lock-in period.

PLDT promotes EHS
PLDT Inc. and its wireless arm Smart Communications Inc. recently concluded the second run of their annual Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Week, which intends to fortify and protect the PLDT and Smart workforce, to enable the companies to elevate the quality of customer experience.
The week-long initiative also fosters the companies’ commitment to become the region’s Environmental, Social, and Governance or ESG-leading telco.
“This year’s EHS Week aims to create sustained awareness around a safer and healthier work environment – one that leads to higher productivity and helps us do business responsibly for the benefit of the entire organization and our customers,” said PLDT and Smart President and CEO Alfredo Panlilio.
“EHS Week is usually celebrated by organizations in line with the International Labor Organization’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This aimsto highlight the importance of awareness in the prevention of accidents and diseases at work, as well as environmental protection. We embrace this initiative across PLDT and Smart to help build a generative culture on occupational safety and health, and holistically encompass our environmental programs,” said PLDT Environment, Health and Safety Division head Kristine Gonzalez-Catague.
The objectives of the EHS Week include improvement of personnel competence and leadership skills while increasing knowledge on emergency preparedness and response. To strengthen the companies’ emergency preparedness and response efforts, simultaneous Fire Safety Seminars with Drill and Fire Fighting Demonstration were held in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection and Facilities Management Teams at different sites namely Malolos, MITC (Manila International Toll Center) Lucena, Cebu Jones and Davao Ponciano.
InLife new executive trustee
The Board of Trustees of Insular Life (InLife) has elected InLife senior executive vice pesident Noemi Azura to the Board, to replace Gil Genio who resigned recently.
Azura is the president and chief executive officer of Insular Health Care (IHC), the HMO subsidiary of InLife, and concurrently InLife’s Corporate Solutions and Digital Insurance head.
A certified public accountant, Azura has over 30 years of experience in consumer banking and health insurance from local and global companies. She completed her Bachelor of Science Major in Accounting from the De La Salle University and Master of Business Administration at the University of the Philippines—Diliman.
New school buildings
Ovialand Inc. partnered with Kyushu Yaesu Inc. , a real estate developer based in Fukuoka, Japan, to construct new school buildings for Masin Elementary School in Candelaria, Quezon.
This initiative is part of Ovialand’s corporate social responsibility.
The two companies are joint-venture partners for Ovialand’s projects in Laguna and Quezon.
The two new school buildings have 8 rooms in total, with each room accommodating up to 40 pupils.
Spark-a-Change
- Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF) launched this year’s Spark-a-Change, an initiative that started last year for its scholars.
This year, the challenge is open to all Filipino youth organizations and groups.
Spark-A-Change 2022 will support a total of eight winning entries with a total pot prize of P100,000. Applications will be accepted until May 31. Twenty qualified entries will undergo a two-day online Ideation Camp on June 18 and 25.
Mossimo x Mind You Rally to #EndTheStigma for Mental Health
In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Mind You Mental Health Systems has partnered with lifestyle clothing brand Mossimo in their ongoing effort to #EndTheStigma surrounding mental health.
The ‘You Are Loved’ campaign is an initiative spearheaded by Mossimo that aims to spread encouragement, love, and hope to help spread awareness about the importance of self-care and mental wellbeing.
A social media campaign will feature mental health advocates speaking about their own experiences, in an effort to open up the conversation about the topic.
Mind You will be offering a free wellness webinar titled, ”My Mother is Unique, So Is Yours: Celebrating All Kinds of Moms” on May 25, 5 p.m.
The exclusive “You Are Loved” box will be available for purchase starting this month, and will contain a shirt, a teddy bear and a mug.
