GMA Network set to air Star Cinema movies

GMA Network has been granted by ABS-CBN the license to air some of Star Cinema’s most popular and well-loved movies.

Per piece checked bag options

Cebu Pacific has announced changes to its checked baggage policy.

The per piece baggage allowance for all new bookings will apply starting April 6. When booking flights, passengers have the option to purchase either a 20kg or a 32kg — both equivalent to only one piece of check-in luggage. A maximum of two options can be purchased per traveler, now enabling everyJuan to carry up to 64 kg worth of bags from the previous 40 kg limit.

Passengers are also encouraged to purchase their baggage allowance with their tickets during initial booking on the CEB website and mobile app and can purchase up to 64 percent versus paying baggage fee during bag drop at the airport. This new per piece baggage policy applies to all passengers with checked baggage.

Maynilad offers desludging services

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. is offering septic tank cleaning services to its residential and semi-business customers this March in select parts of Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Manila, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Quezon City, Valenzuela, and Cavite at no extra cost.

Customers residing in Barangay 160, 161, 163 to 165, 170, 171 and 177 in Caloocan; Brgy. Almanza Uno in Las Piñas; Brgy. Bangkal in Makati; Brgy. Acacia, Longos and Potrero in Malabon; barangays under Sampaloc in Manila; Brgy. Bayanan in Muntinlupa; Brgy. North Bay Boulevard (North and South) in Navotas; Brgy. BF Homes and Sun Valley in Parañaque; Brgy. 183 and those under Baltao, Maricaban and Pildera 2 in Pasay City; Brgy. Baesa, Bagbag and Bahay Toro in Quezon City; and Brgy. Gen. T. De Leon and Ugong in Valenzuela City may avail of Maynilad’s desludging service.

Some Maynilad customers in Cavite Province, particularly in Brgy. Habay I and Ligas I to III in Bacoor City; Brgy. 10-A and B, 13, 16, 18, 19, 23, 26, 28, 29 and 29-A in Cavite City; and Brgy. Bayan Luma I to V in Imus City may avail of the company’s septic tank cleaning services.

Tech-focused training courses

Union Bank of the Philippines has teamed up with Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV) on an initiative to ‘tech-up’ micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the tourism sector.

The drive is part of UnionBank’s efforts to help entrepreneurs thrive in the digital economy, pushing its Tech-Up Pilipinas advocacy. A memorandum of understanding was recently signed between UnionBank, AEV and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) for the launch of the “Biyaheng Digiskarte: Angat Turismo” project.

UnionBank, through its MSME platform GlobalLinker , together with AEV, will be offering technology-focused training courses to MSMEs that are with the Tourism Promotions Board Membership Program.

The said courses are designed to provide learning opportunities that will enable capacity-building and address various gaps in digital competencies for the tourism MSMEs.

foodpanda, SeekCap support Odette-affected vendors

Food delivery platform foodpanda announced a partnership with UBX through its lending solution SeekCap to provide loan assistance to thousands of foodpanda vendors in Visayas and Mindanao who were affected by Typhoon Odette.

Under the partnership, over 8,000 partner-vendors of foodpanda will be assisted in availing loans worth P50,000 to P1 million from SeekCap, which provides affordable and accessible credit to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through its online lending marketplace.

According to foodpanda managing director Daniel Marogy, the initiative is a continuation of foodpanda’s support for sectors affected by the December 2021 typhoon, with foodpanda having already donated over P6 million in aid to affected communities, foodpanda employees and riders shortly after Odette devastated many areas in Visayas and Mindanao.

BATA Foundation, Zonta MOU
