Filinvest Land wins Dot Property award

Filinvest Land, Inc. (FLI) has bagged the Best Developer Award for North Luzon and Mindanao categories in the recently concluded Dot Property Philippines Awards 2021. These awards recognize the valuable contributions of FLI to the advancement of the regions.

FPG Insurance partners with GCash

FPG Insurance has  inked a partnership with GCash to offer retail insurance products within the mobile wallet.

FPG Insurance is the first non-life insurance company to partner with the fintech giant.

Under GInsure, the fintech’s insurance product offerings, users can now purchase insurance coverage for Compulsory Third-Party Liability (CTPL) insurance and personal accident protection.

With GCash’s latest addition to its insurance product offering, motorists can now buy CTPL Insurance, a mandatory vehicle registration requirement by the Land Transportation Office  for as low as P300.40 for motorcycles and P610.40 for private cars. FPG Insurance also offers personal accident insurance protection through MyPAP Mate, a three-month insurance product now available to all GCash users for as low as P300 per individual.

MakatiMed earns JCI accreditation 

Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed) has once again secured another accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), a demonstration of the hospital’s world-class services and processes and its unwavering commitment to patient safety and premium medical care.

MakatiMed was re-accredited after it concluded the JCI 7th Edition Accreditation survey from November 8 to 12

It obtained a higher score than the previous one and received perfect scores of 10 in four areas: Assessment of Patients, Staff Qualification and Education, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, and Patient-Centered Care.

MakatiMed was also able to provide improvements to new standards including suicide and self-harm in the patient assessment risk, particularly for special cases like psychiatric and post-partum patients. The hospital developed a program that would ensure an integrated approach to reducing the risk of harm associated with clinical alarms and preventing staff from having alarm fatigue.

Asticom ‘Employer of Choice’ in 2021 HRD Asia Awards

Globe’s shared services company Asticom Technology, Inc. was recently named “Employer of Choice” in the HRD Asia Awards 2021 for enterprises with over 1,000 employees.

The Asticom Group was the only Philippine company that received such recognition for the highly-coveted category. Winners were determined based on assessments of a company’s exemplary leadership, employee engagement, communication, and benefits.

The annual HRD Awards Asia has been recognized as one of the region’s leading independent awards for the HR profession.  It is brought by Key Media, the organizers of the 18th annual Australian HR Awards and the 8th annual Canadian HR Awards, which celebrate the best HR teams, individuals, and employers.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Asticom has been quick to help its people adjust to the new normal and keep safe and healthy through various initiatives.

GT Capital vaccine donation

GT Capital Holdings Inc. and its property arm Federal Land Inc. donated 5,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine to the local government of Pasay City on December 9.

The initiative forms part of GT Capital and Federal Land’s commitment to support the local government’s vaccination program that mitigates the spread of COVID-19 in the city.

Federal Land is present in Pasay City with a 36-hectare master-planned community development, Metro Park.

Filipino-owned subsidiary wins in Vietnam

Phoenix Gas Vietnam, a subsidiary of homegrown company Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., was awarded the Top 20 Gold Service Award for Consumer Rights 2021 in recognition of its exemplary performance in the supply and trade of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the Vietnamese market.

Bestowed by the Committee on Good Vietnamese Products and Consumers’ Rights, the merit is only given to Vietnamese brands and companies that have shown significant contributions towards improving market competition, as well as in the protection of consumer rights and interests.

“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we are thankful that the company’s role in the supply of LPG, the high ratings we have earned, and the overwhelming trust among partners and customers that we have diligently worked for, have been recognized,” said Phoenix Gas Vietnam general director,  Duong Nghia Dung.

Dung, who leads Phoenix Gas Vietnam, was also awarded the prestigious recognition of Outstanding Vietnamese Businessman 2021 Award for his role in helping achieve the organization’s achievements.

SEPCO appoints new president

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. announced the appointment of Minsu Chu as the new president of Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp.  (SEPCO).

With over two decades of experience including 11 years in Samsung, Chu most recently held the role of president of Samsung Electronics New Zealand. Having been the business director of the Mobile business in SEPCO from 2014 to 2018, he will return to the Philippines to head Samsung’s local subsidiary.

Chu’s appointment comes on the heels of a robust business performance of Samsung Philippines despite substantial impact from the pandemic.

Inspiring stories of homegrown businesses

Lazada closes the year with its 12.12 Grand Christmas Sale and celebrates the inspiring stories of local sellers who have found a platform for their businesses.

One of them is Storage Solutions which credited Lazada for its recovery from the effects of the pandemic.

The homegrown brand specializes in affordable travel accessories like carry-on luggage and travel organizers and shifted her sales channels online and has been focusing on her Lazada store since 2020.

Touch of Green MNL sells gardening products on social media and on Lazada and has since grown from a solo operations to now a 10-man company complete with a  new warehouse for the growing assortment.

Bong & Josie Food Manufacturing which sells peanuts and other snacks, migrated to Lazada during the lockdown and now makes around P60,000 in revenue a month.

Cash for Medical Costs

Singlife Philippines has launched Cash for Medical Costs, a product that provides cash for hospitalization and upon diagnosis with one of 125 covered critical diseases, and reimbursements for medical costs for intensive medical care due to a critical condition or illness.

Purchases can be made in less than five minutes via GInsure on the GCash app, and there are no medical exams required or long forms to fill out.
