Published by Business Media International (BMI), HR Asia employs a proprietary organizational survey that evaluates a company as an employer of choice in its field.
CORE or Collective Organization for Real Engagement evaluates company culture and ethics, leadership and organization, and activities involving employee wellness, learning and development, and self-actualization. The Self assessment level measures employee attitudes and behavior such as job ownership, belongingness and pride. Group assessment level analyzes collective consciousness, team workplace sentiment and team dynamics.
Across all three levels, EDC registered higher than market average scores. It has been recognized by BMI with the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Award 2022.
#BrigadangAyala for Noche Buena
A week away from Christmas Eve, #BrigadangAyala distributed noche buena packages to 6,000 families in various provinces in the country.
Over 500 employee—volunteers from the WeAreAyala Business Club (WAABC) went to 15 locations in six provinces to bring noche buena packs that contained P1,000 worth of grocery items that could
feed a family of five. The beneficiaries were selected from vulnerable communities in Pampanga, Cebu, Negros, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao.

UBX appoints new global CTO
DOMINGO
UBX has appointed digital transformation and artificial intelligence expert Mario Domingo as its new global chief technology officer.
With over three decades of experience under his belt, Domingo is one of the most successful digital transformation executives in the Asia Pacific Region, having played multiple roles in various organizations in Asia and the US.
Domingo is now responsible for the management of product development and technology services at UBX and will spearhead the company’s platform and ecosystem development initiatives.
Prior to his appointment to UBX, Domingo was the Asia Pacific Group CTO of the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Doming has a double master’s degree in Science in Finance and Economics at the University of Southern California and a certificate degree in Artificial Intelligence from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Computer Science Artificial Intelligence Lab.
BENCH techs up with UnionBank
Union Bank of the Philippines has partnered with Suyen Corp. (BENCH Group) to help digitize payments in its more than 800 brick-and-mortar and affiliate stores all over the country.
The contract signing ceremony between UnionBank and BENCH took place last November 14 at the UnionBank Plaza in Pasig City.
To help BENCH digitize its transactions, UnionBank will generate in-store QRPH codes to serve as additional payment channels for shoppers.
Through the QRPH’s wide range of accepted payment providers via partner banks and popular digital wallets, shoppers can pay for their purchases digitally without using unfamiliar services or apps.

The rising dominance of chat apps
Chat apps such as WhatsApp are becoming crucial channels for customer communications, according to a new research firm Infobip with data showing an 80 percent and 62 percent increase in WhatsApp and rich communication services interactions respectively in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
To help businesses understand changing habits, Infobip analyzed more than 153 billion communications interactions on its platform from the first half of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
The analysis reveals several trends. First, customer communications today are more digital than ever, with a 68 percent increase in interactions across all digital channels. Second, alongside the growth in chat app interactions, some 99percent of customer support and chatbot interactions are now on WhatsApp.
While newer channels are gaining momentum, the data also shows the continued growth of more traditional channels, such as SMS and email. Interactions on these channels increased by 75 percent and 91 percent, respectively, with Infobip seeing emerging uses around timely alerts and security solutions such as two-factor authentication.
