SM Seaside City Cebu successfully transformed into a world-class culinary stage as it hosted Cebu Goes Culinary 2025 on September 26-27 at the Sky Hall, bringing together the region’s finest culinary talents.
Organized by the Hotel, Resort & Restaurant Association of Cebu, Inc. (HRRAC), this year’s edition featured participants from Cebu, Bacolod, Bohol, Leyte, Ormoc, Camotes, and Negros in the biggest culinary competition in the Visayas.
With the theme “Balik Isla – Foraging in the Philippine Countryside,” the event highlighted Filipino culinary heritage by challenging 32 professional establishments and 18 hospitality schools to create extraordinary dishes using indigenous and seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers and markets.
Competitors battled across 17 categories under five main clusters: • Battle Royale: Klasika Moderna Kulinarya – Sutukil • Compleat Chefs: Best Regional Ingredient, Best Traditional Recipe, Regional Pica-Pica, and Pantry Chef – Regional Vegetable or Fruit Salad • Culinary Flair: Flairtending, Cocktail Making, Mocktail Making, Coffee Concoction, Cacao Concoction, and Table Setting with Floral Centerpiece • Sweet Revenge: Kakanin – Puto Maya, Wedding Cake, Creative Cake Decoration, and Pralines • Special Competition by Potatoes USA: Pica-Pica Appetizer
Beyond testing culinary skills, the competition served as a launchpad for future champions, with winners gaining medals, recognition, scholarships, mentorships, and opportunities to represent Cebu nationally and globally.
The successful event reinforced SM Seaside City Cebu’s commitment to being the premier venue for extraordinary experiences, gathering cultural showcases and prestigious competitions under one roof.
The two-day celebration showcased not only exceptional taste but also creativity, sustainability, and the enduring story of Filipino flavors.
