CEB Bayanihan flights bring home 1,417 Filipinos
Cebu Pacific brought home over the past two weeks 1,417 Filipinos from Dubai via seven special commercial or Bayanihan flights, to support the government’s repatriation program.
The CEB special commercial flights from Dubai-Manila on October 11, 13, 18 and 20 and Dubai-Davao on October 21 to 23 were mounted in coordination with the Philippine government’s special working group.
Aside from meal upgrades, each passenger on these flights received an additional 25 kg baggage allowance.
Passengers have to comply with health protocols, including a mandatory facility-based quarantine, and a swab test to be taken on the fifth day for the fully-vaccinated, or seventh day for non/partially vaccinated after arrival.
CEB has flown more than 6,500 Filipinos from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, India, Vietnam, Lebanon, and Bahrain through Bayanihan and Department of Foreign Affairs-arranged charter flights since July.

Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria and Holiday Inn Manila Galleria received the IHG Giving for Good Award for the year 2021.
Founded in September 2018, Giving for Good month has seen IHG colleagues provide more than 300,000 acts of kindness in our communities around the world.
Last September, both hotels celebrated the Giving for Good month along with ‘R Love’ care, coming together to help communities through volunteering, taking care of the environment and making a difference in their associates’ health and well-being. This is True Hospitality.
Each department organized their unique initiative funded by the employees while the hotels has their own company-initiated endeavors.
The Finance Department gathered resources to feed and fend for 100 grandmothers at the Little Sisters Of The Elderly In San Juan. The Engineering Team spruced up the 5th floor garden area of the hotel.
Nurse Ton Delgado shared his tai-chi expertise to his colleagues. RISE Alumna and Rooms division managers, Regina Sta. Cruz and Dennise Gallardo chose to raise awareness on building confidence and expressing oneself through the #IAMRemarkable workshop.
The Food & Beverage Department pooled their own resources to provide bento meals to the Pasig Blue Boys and airport frontliners, as well as the delivery riders from Grab, Lalamove, and Food Panda from a booth set up outside the Hotel driveway.
Hotel employees held a blood donation drive for cancer patients at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center, and donated cribs for Childcare, while bikers gathered 100 food packs from their personal contributions to give away as they biked around the city.
The hotels chose HOPE Community Facility for asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 patients in Quezon City as a beneficiary of hotel linens and toiletries.
General Manager Barun Jolly said, “It is really amazing and heartwarming that about 80% of our total workforce participated in the program, supporting 5 institutions, and distributing beyond 300 food packs. This filled the Hotel with so much happiness, love and hope. We believe in genuinely giving back to the community and we hope to create a lasting positive impact.”
CitySavings honors teachers

It sponsored major prizes including e-gift vouchers, teaching tools, and brand new motorcycle units that were raffled off during the virtual NTM celebration.
CitySavings also revved up its Motor Moto program that offers education personnel 0% installment on pre-loved motorcycles.
To support DepEd’s Basic Education – Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP), the Bank donated sanitation essentials, handwashing facilities, printing materials, and learning equipment. This initiative, under DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela program, benefited more than 340 schools and division offices across the country.

FedEx Express increases capacity
FedEx Express has further increased capacity with the launch of two new flights connecting Asia Pacific (APAC) businesses to Europe and North America respectively. It has added wide-body 767 freighters, making the FedEx fleet in Asia 100-percent wide-body.
The launch of these two new flights is the latest in the FedEx network expansion, as economies across APAC continue to rebound. Combined with the four new intercontinental flights launched in July, FedEx has added 62 flights in and out of APAC per week with additional capacity to carry almost 2,700 tons (2,690,000 kgs). These added flights contribute to a total of over 225 weekly flights in and out of APAC to the US. and Europe.
New house for Olympic medalist
Ovialand Inc. built a new house and lot for Olympic silver medalist Nesthy Petecio at Caliya in Candelaria, Quezon.
The Duplex home was fully furnished at the time of the turnover on October 23.
Through this gift, Ovialand said it is hoping to bring Petecio and her family the premier family living experience they deserve.

PMA sets convention on Jan 18-20

Security Bank recognized
Security Bank Corp. was awarded by UK-based finance journal Retail Banker International (RBI) as a Trailblazer in Product Innovation during the 2021 RBI Asia Trailblazer Awards for its Doctor’s Loan product. RBI recognized this loan product as the Best Loan Offering, giving it a “Highly Commended” citation.
“Being agile to the needs of the communities we serve at Security Bank, we knew we had to provide financial relief to our physicians in times of need. Through our Doctor’s Loan, we are able to help our frontliners secure funding for their child’s tuition, clinic renovations and additional liquidity,” said Sanjiv Vohra, president and chief executive officer.
Through the loan offering, physicians were able to obtain loans with a three-month, interest-free deferment on payments, a special interest rate and flexible payment terms of up to 60 months with loans being approved within three to five banking days.
The Doctors Loan product, which is a variant of the Bank’s Corporate Salary Loan, was rolled out in May 2020 to the medical community, starting with St. Luke’s Medical Center.
