CDC to promote Kapampangan culture, heritage in Clark
The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) in partnership with BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corporation (BBI), and Bridges of Benevolent Initiative Foundation, Inc. (BBIFI) recently inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for a sponsorship amounting to P1.2 million.
The sponsorship will be used to promote Kapampangan Cultural Heritage (KCH) in this Freeport in order to preserve Pampanga’s rich history as well as to rebuild the culture, revitalize the language, and promote it to the global community.
According to the MOA, the CDC through its Corporate Social Responsibility and Placement Division (CSRPD) shall ensure that the equipment and materials have a location within CDC and are readily available for research and education of KCH.
The state-owned corporation shall also accept the completed project and execute the corresponding certificate of acceptance. Upon acceptance, CDC will certify the project cost or the actual amount spent disbursed by the licensee and the foundation.
CDC Chairman Atty. Edgardo D. Pamintuan said that the said project may be a source of motivation and encouragement to every Filipino and all foreigners to learn more about the Kapampangan culture and the practices still being observed.
Meanwhile, CDC President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan expressed his appreciation for the partnership which will be entrusted to the Aguman Sinupan Singsing, Inc.
Project Banca
Aboitiz Foundation Inc. together with Cebu-based business units AboitizLand, Inc. and Visayan Electric, partnered with the local government units of Liloan and Talisay City, Cebu for the provision of 60 motorized fishing boats to 60 selected fishermen living in the coastal areas to help them recover from the devastation caused by Typhoon Odette.
‘Project Banca” is a recovery and assistance program for the fisheries sector, considered as the most affected sector that sustained damages after Typhoon Odette with over 3,245 boats damaged across the Central Visayas Region affecting 9,000 families. The project aims to revive the livelihood of the fishermen to enable them to go back fishing.
The project was launched last April 4 in Talisay City with the signing of memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the turnover of the initial 30 new bancas to the city’s identified beneficiaries.
Another MOA signing was held last April 5 for the turnover of 30 more bancas, this time to the Municipality of Liloan.
The donated bancas will be turned over by the Municipality to the members of the 10 fishermen associations who will be in-charge of the maintenance and proper usage of the bancas.

Aid to Taal evacuees
Shopee has partnered with several brands and charity organizations to provide aid for Taal evacuees.
Together with Shopee, partner brands such as Universal Robina Corp., Colgate, and Monde Nissin, donated essentials such as drinking water and food items to affected residents. Through the help of its Shopee Xpress fleet and volunteers, Shopee transported and coursed donations through the ABS-CBN Foundation for the latter’s ongoing on-ground efforts.
These Shopee Xpress volunteers also helped collate and distribute potable water donated by the Luzon Clean Water Development to evacuation centers in Batangas.
Shopee also invites users to donate to those affected by the taal eruption and other emergencies through its partner charities found on the app.
New SFP president

AirSWIFT is introducing El Nido-Caticlan and El Nido-Busuanga, making it possible to explore two of Palawan’s pride and get whisked away to Boracay in one single itinerary.
