CLARK FREEPORT — Clark Development Corporation (CDC) participated in a multi-sectoral Nutrition Month celebration on July 29 at the Clark Training Center, supporting food and nutrition security in Metro Clark communities.
The event featured interactive activities highlighting nutrition’s importance in daily life. Families demonstrated culinary skills in a cooking contest themed “Masustansiyang Pagkain para sa Pamilyang Pinoy, Ating Ihain,” while children participated in a Nutri-Costume parade and Nutri-Quiz competition promoting proper nutrition awareness.
The celebration was part of the Roots to Shoots (RTS) initiative, a multi-program collaboration funded by Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc. (BCFI) and implemented by Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc. (PSFI). Launched in 2023, RTS integrates Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Mother and Child Care (MCC), and Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) programs to address key public health and development challenges.

A National Nutrition Council (NNC) learning session emphasized nutrition as a basic human right, reinforcing the event’s message of inclusive health and well-being.
Participants included residents from Barangays Sto. Niño and San Vicente in Bamban, Barangays Calumpang and Marcos Village in Mabalacat City, plus teachers, parents, and children from Family Care Center – Sto. Niño.
CDC’s participation demonstrated its commitment to advancing public health and sustainable development in Clark Freeport Zone and surrounding communities. The celebration was made possible through collaboration between BCFI, PSFI, Manila Water Foundation, LGU Bamban – Municipal Health Office, LGU Mabalacat City – City Nutrition Office, and NNC – Region III.
