CARD Bank celebrated its 28th anniversary on September 1, 2025, in Brgy. Santisimo Rosario, San Pablo City, Laguna, by launching the upgraded konek2CARD mobile banking app.
“It was right here in this barangay, where the digital community of CARD MRI began. That is why it holds a special place in our hearts,” reflected CARD Bank President and CEO Ms. Marivic Austria, noting konek2CARD’s 2017 origins.
“This upgraded version of konek2CARD, with faster and improved features, is a symbol of the digital innovation we continuously develop for our clients. It is our way of making products and services more inclusive to everyone we serve,” Austria added.
The new version expands availability beyond Google Play Store to Apple App Store and Huawei App Gallery, enhancing accessibility for CARD MRI’s 4.4 million clients.
Key Enhancements
- Enhanced security: Biometric authentication via fingerprint or facial recognition
- Instant access: Account balance and savings displayed upon login
- Improved interface: Icon-based format for easier navigation
- Saved transfers: Store interbank account numbers to minimize errors
Currently available at CARD Bank’s San Pablo City branches, the rollout will expand to all CARD Bank branches by September 22, 2025, followed by CARD SME Bank integration.
The celebration featured new celebrity ambassador JC Santos and welcomed CARD MRI Founder Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip, who announced the bank’s commercial bank transition plans for next year.
“As a microfinance-oriented rural bank, we face certain limitations in the services we offer. By becoming a commercial bank, we will be able to broaden our financial services and meet the growing demands of our clients,” Dr. Alip stated.
The transition will enable CARD Bank to serve overseas Filipino workers’ families and offer investment products typically reserved for large companies to its existing clientele.
