British Chamber reinforces strong growth of UK gins in the Philippine market

The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) reinforced strong economic ties between the UK and Philippines during its World Gin Day and 7th Bartending Competition on June 26, 2025, at Dusit Thani Manila. The event partnered with PMFTC, 1834 Premium Gin, major partner Ayala Corporation, and media partner Malaya Business Insight.

Masters of ceremony BCCP Vice Chair Sarah McLeod and Events Committee Head Chris Ward welcomed representatives from event partners including Ginebral San Miguel Inc. AVP and Marketing Manager Ron Molina. Event remarks highlighted the growing Philippine gin market and the UK’s position as a top global exporter.

This year’s celebration introduced seven British distilleries—Eight Lands, G&I Spirit Group Ltd., Masons of Yorkshire, Rock Rose Gin, Spirit of Trent, The Cotswolds, and Whitley Neill Gin—marking increased interest from new companies entering the Philippine market.

The 7th Bartending Competition showcased Filipino bartender talent while demonstrating opportunities for skills development, innovation, and creativity between UK producers and local mixologists. It served as a platform to demonstrate UK gin quality and craftsmanship to Filipino retailers, distributors, and industry professionals.

“We recognize the great turnout of this year’s World Gin Day as we saw an increase in new British gin companies interested in entering the Philippine market,” noted BCCP Executive Chairman Chris Nelson. “With the current policy developments and a growing local demand, this is a great opportunity that British businesses should take advantage of.”

The Philippines gin market is positioned for steady 3.0% growth through 2029, while the global gin outlook remains positive, expected to reach $23.43 billion this year. Asian markets show particular promise for British gin exports, with Asia Pacific as the fastest growing market globally.
