The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) will host an event titled “Forecasting 2025: UK-PH Economic Perspectives” on January 30, 2025, at the Makati Commerce Tower. This event is part of the Chamber’s Trade & Connect initiative and will feature representatives from the Philippine government, British Embassy Manila, and insights from the private sector regarding the economic outlook for UK-Philippines bilateral trade.

The event is made possible with major sponsorship from Colliers and media support from Malaya Business Insight. Key speakers will include Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, Department of Trade and Industry Undersecretary Allan B. Gepty, His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils, Philippine National Bank Economist Alvin Arogo, and Asian Consulting Group CEO Mon Abrea, CPA, MBA, MPA.

BCCP Executive Director/Trustee Chris Nelson has emphasized the importance of concrete actions and strategies to position the Philippines as a prime investment destination in Southeast Asia. He stated, “Legislation is important. What I have to stress is the Philippines is competing with other markets in Southeast Asia and therefore, we need to keep on driving that liberalization, communicating it well, and highlighting those opportunities particularly with a talented workforce and a developing market.”
