The British Embassy, the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines and the British Council prepare for the forthcoming Great British Festival 2024 at the BGC Amphitheater on the 19th and 20th of October to celebrate the 78 years of diplomatic relations and long-established friendship between the United Kingdom and the Philippines.
The event is organized together with its supporting partners: PruLife UK, Shell, Pandiman, BPI, Unilever, Corio Generation, HSBC, SSI Marks & Spencer, VFS Global, PGA Cars — Bentley, BSI, Inchcape, BDO, Standard Chartered, Jollibee Foods Corporation, Radical Motors, Union Jack Tavern, Yummy Organics Food Corporation, Tao Corporation, The Borough Pizza Pub, Gridiron Shawarma x Sausage, Ginebra San Miguel, Vogue Concepts — Charles Tyrwhitt, Nord Anglia International School Manila and Drake International, McDonald’s,Philippine Airlines, Estate Wines, and Malaya Business Insight as one of its media partners.
BCCP executive director/trustee Chris Nelson expressed “We are glad to welcome everyone again to the Great British Festival. The British Chamber along with the British Embassy Manila and the British Council have worked together to showcase the growing trade and cultural relations between the UK and the Philippines. We look forward to showcasing a promising business landscape to more British investors." In 2023, over 50,000 visitors and 38 companies participated in the return of the Great British Festival after its 5-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
The UK and the Philippines will continue to reinforce their diplomatic, economic, and socio-cultural ties through the continuing expansion of trade and investment reaching an all- time high of £2.7 billion in total trade in goods and services. This serves as a testament to the ever-growing Filipino-British community that is marked by the continuous work and collaborative efforts of the UK and the Philippine government.
