The Auto Tech Mobility Association (ATMAI) will host a workshop titled “Is Putting Up an Auto Repair Shop Right for You?” on April 10 at the Asian Institute of Management – Dado Banatao Incubator (AIM-DBI) in Makati City.
Led by ATMAI President and Chairman Mark Saberola, the workshop aims to guide potential entrepreneurs considering the growing auto repair industry. MarCar, a sales and distribution business established by Saberola, and AutoServed are co-presenting the event.
“With the number of vehicles on Philippine roads increasing year after year, and a notable number of Filipino automotive technicians and mechanics returning from abroad, there is a ripe opportunity for growth in the auto repair sector,” Saberola said. “Social media is awash with new repair shops opening every week. But the real question remains—is this business truly the right fit for you?”
Saberola brings over two decades of automotive servicing experience, including work with Ford Motor Company and co-founding an auto repair shop that became a successful franchise.
“Capital is available, the market is growing, and there’s no shortage of returning skilled workers. But before jumping into this competitive space, aspiring shop owners must understand the landscape, challenges, and strategic opportunities,” he added.
The workshop will feature case studies, guidance and a Q&A session to help participants make informed decisions about entering the industry.
The event costs PHP 3,000 payable to the ATMAI Secretariat. Seats are limited. To register, visit ATMAI Pocket Event or www.autotechmobility.org.
ATMAI is a non-stock, non-profit organization focused on road safety, sustainable mobility and automotive innovation in the Philippines.
