It has a recognition component, like the Pulis Magiting X Pilipinong Magiting initiative, which was recently relaunched in six regions to celebrate men and women in uniform who have shown extraordinary acts of heroism beyond the call of duty.
Recognizing Diaz as “Atletang Magiting” is part of the Ayala group’s efforts toward collaboration and synergy across companies and units and an expression of its continuing commitment to national development.

Globe brings GoWiFi, KonekTayo to Negros Island’s Sagay City
Globe and the Sagay City government joined hands to enable WiFi connectivity to keep residents informed, safe and connected. The partnership marks an important milestone as Sagay City is the first in the entire Negros Island to be powered with Globe KonekTayo and GoWiFi services.
The cooperation allows Sagay City Hall to be linked to the internet with Globe’s GoWiFi service. This gives the city’s staff members a convenient way to conduct essential online tasks and activities while staying connected for free.
Residents of Brgy. Paraiso 1 and 2 and Lizares Subdivision have been experiencing the benefits since KonekTayo WiFi was deployed in the area. As Globe’s fast and secure community WiFi service, it seeks to provide households with access to affordable internet.
Globe also commits to make its Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) available to Sagaynons in the near future. DTP is a series of workshops that aim to increase netizen knowledge of digital citizenship and cybersafety.

Medical expert at VHealthy web series stresses vaccine importance
A top health expert has reiterated the importance of getting vaccinated against COVID-19 during the recently-concluded VHealthy webinar series of the Villar Group.
Fr. Nicanor Austriaco, a UST professor and a microbiologist, explained how vaccines could help a person develop anti-bodies that destroy the COVID-19 virus, also allying fears of some employees who expressed concerned on the adverse effects of the vaccines.
The Villar Group has been administering vaccines on essential workersin the past few months while the government adjusts the quarantine classifications in Metro Manila and other provinces.TheGroup has ordered Moderna and Oxford-Astra Zeneca for the vaccination of its workforce.
Chairman Manny Villar noted how important it is for the work force to be protected because a healthy workforce also paves way to the protection of everyone.
“Ensuring the health and safety of our employees is our top priority. The vaccine will not only help build immunity from the virus, but will also help boost consumer confidence to go out again,” Villar said.

PCPPI observes National Disaster Consciousness Month
Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI)–the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country – prepares for disasters as it observes the National Disaster Consciousness Month.
PCPPI has developed a comprehensive emergency response plan to protect its employees, properties and company operations against potential risks should a disaster occur.
Mapped out in the plan are the immediate actions in times of natural and man-made incidents like fire, earthquake, typhoon, medical and security emergencies, and, recently added, volcanic eruption. PCPPI also detailed the preparations pre-disaster, emergency response during the event, and post-disaster assessment.
As an added pre-caution, the company offered a disaster resiliency and preparedness training for its employees as part of their celebration of National Disaster Consciousness Month. The training was conducted by Muntinlupa City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office last July 28, 2021.

AI technology reshaping insurance
AXA Philippines recently participated in the online regional roundtable discussion “Innovating with AI Technologies and Data Analytics” hosted by the Asia Internet of Things, Business Platform (AIBP) Focus, and Dell Technologies.
Abby Oliva-Cenzon, AXA Philippines director for Transformation and Technology Strategic Portfolio, joined the discussion as one of the key panelists and shared insights about AI’s significant and imminent changes in the insurance industry as companies evolve to insurance technology or insurtech.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionized the insurance industry by helping insurance providers deliver more efficient, effective, and personalized products and services to customers, the discussion revealed.
Cenzon said by leveraging on AI technologies, AXA Philippines was able to establish its Social Media Command Centres. Another application that AXA Philippines uses to deliver faster customer service is MyAXA, a mobile app that allows customers to view their policy details, download policy documents, and make specific policy changes.
The company’s Emma by AXA PH app serves as AXA Philippines AI chat bot partner that enables anyone to access AXA Rescue Line for free 24/7 emergency assistance, as well as allows customers to easily file claims and buy insurance online.

PLDT, Smart provide relief to Batangas, Mindoro
PLDT and unit Smart Communications Inc. distributed relief goods to communities in Batangas and Mindoro inundated by floods due to the habagat.
The Group sent around 300 packs of relief goods to residents of Barangay Sambal Ilaya in Lemery, Batangas. The week-long torrential rains have flooded the community, damaging homes and other infrastructure. Around 180 families had been evacuated at the height of the flooding.
PLDT and Smart also turned over almost 400 packs of relief goods to affected communities in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro and San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
Some 275 families in Barangay Arangin in the town of Naujan benefited from the aid. Provincial distributor Tristar also extended Php 30,000 to boost relief efforts.
PLDT and Smart also handed over 100 relief packs to residents of Barangay 5 in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
The Group also distributed relief aid to about 100 families in Barangay Barahan, Santa Cruz, Occidental Mindoro. PLDT and Smart are also lining up relief operations in other impacted communities in the province.

TELUS PH rolls out vaccination program
TELUS International Philippines (TIP) is implementing its vaccination program for team members across its sites as it continues to offer access to its Care program for colleagues who have been affected by COVID-19.
“Our goal is to offer access to the vaccine to all our team members across all our sites in Metro Manila and Iloilo. Our vaccine supply is scheduled to arrive in multiple batches, with the first batch being used for our vaccination program which started this July, and the second batch expected to arrive in the Philippines this August. The plan is to inoculate all of our team members who registered for the vaccination program this year,” said Mirei Magallona, TELUS International Philippines country vice president.
An internal vaccine education campaign was launched at TIP in January when the company announced it would have a vaccination program for all members of the TELUS International Philippines team. Aftercare support is available to team members who opt into the vaccination program.
TELUS International Philippines Care Program, first launched in 2020, provides team members who seek medical consultation, are in self-quarantine, or are recovering from COVID-19 with health and wellness guidance, resources.
