Asia’s finest figure skaters take center stage at the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy 2025, August 1-5, 2025 at SM Skating Mall of Asia in Manila.

Sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and Asian Skating Union (ASU), this prestigious event marks the 2026 Winter Olympic season’s start, bringing together over 170 athletes from 19 countries. Figure skating powerhouses South Korea, China, and Kazakhstan compete alongside rising Southeast Asian stars from the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Hosted by the Philippine Skating Union (PHSU) with support from ISU Development Commission, Philippine Sports Commission, and Milo, the event showcases the Philippines’ capability to stage world-class international sporting events while highlighting the nation’s signature warmth and hospitality.

“This is a rare chance to see the Philippines’ top figure skating prospects compete on home ice—and the stakes are high,” says Nikki Cheng, President of the Philippine Skating Union. She added that for Filipino skaters, the Asian Open serves as a national selection event for both the 2026 Olympic Qualifier Pool and the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
