On June 14, 2024, Ambassador Endo Kazuya paid a courtesy visit to Budget secretary Amenah Pangandaman at the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
During their meeting, Endo and Pangandaman highlighted the crucial role of DBM’s prudent yet agile fiscal management in sustaining the Philippines’ economic growth and fostering bilateral partnerships under Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA).
They also discussed the Mindanao Peace Process, where Pangandaman, as co-chairperson of the Intergovernmental Relations Body (IGRB), shared insights from the national government’s perspective.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration through the High-level Joint Committee Meeting on Infrastructure Development and Economic Cooperation between Japan and the Philippines, aiming to address shared priorities.
