Alsons Power Group has broken ground on a new Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) center in Sitio Tahakayo, Barangay Amsipit, Maasim, Sarangani, through its Maasim-based subsidiaries—Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) and Siguil Hydro Power Corporation (SHPC).

The 48-square-meter facility will serve over 30 young children from the underserved upland communities of Sitio Tahakayo and Sitio Lebe, where access to early childhood learning opportunities remains limited. The center will provide a safe, child-friendly space fostering foundational learning and supporting holistic development in these geographically isolated communities.

“Education is a powerful driver of inclusive progress,” said Ruben Tungpalan, Vice President for Corporate Affairs at Alsons Power. “Through this project, we reaffirm our commitment to nurturing young minds and empowering the communities we serve.”

The groundbreaking ceremony was led by land donor John Mad; Alsons Power Vice President for Corporate Affairs Ruben Tungpalan; Punong Barangay Hilario Kaka of Amsipit; Barangay Kagawad Arthur Moyak; and SEC Stakeholder Senior Manager Joel Aton.
