Spreading the love
The Body Shop customers helped spread the love to medical front liners and Grab riders over the holidays.
In partnership with SM Cares, The Body Shop was able to spread the love to medical front liners through The Body Shop’s Buy 1 Donate 1 Body Butter to a Medical Front Liner promotion. A total of 1,500 Body Butters amounting to Php 1,275,000 were given to medical front liners from 14 partner hospitals.
Hospital partners include QC General Hospital, VRP Medical Center, The Medical City Pasig, San Juan De Dios Hospital, Las Pinas City Medical Center, Inc., Commonwealth Hospital and Medical Center, University of Sto. Tomas Hospital, Manila Doctors Hospital, Mission Hospital, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Marikina Doctors Hospital and Medical Center Inc., The Premier Medical Center, South Super Highway Medical Center, and Medical Center Paranaque.

LG Shares Laundry Love in Visayas
The Visayas region was one of the hardest hit areas of Typhoon Odette. A lot of people were displaced and whole families were uprooted from their homes. In true Filipino fashion and with the spirit of bayanihan, individuals, organizations, and businesses all stepped up to provide relief and help those affected by the typhoon. As the typhoon victims slowly came back to rebuild their homes, help was there.
LG Philippines, together with one of its key commercial laundry distributors BigWash, lent assistance through its dealer in Cebu, Terrific Wash.
“This is my small way of helping my fellow kababayans here in Cebu and Butuan and I am thankful to LG Philippines for the support,” Terrific Wash Owner, Minerva Bascon, said.
The partners provided free laundry services in numerous hard-hit areas in Cebu and Butuan to help give the residents access to clean clothing. The Laundry Love program was staged in six locations in Cebu and one in Butuan, which served over 365 customers in a span of two days.
“Our heart goes to the communities hit hard by Typhoon Odette. We are glad that we were able to mobilize quickly with the help of our local distributor in order to help out as much as we can,” LG Philippines Managing Director Sungjae Kim said.
Data center upgrades
Vertiv, a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, announced it has provided its integrated micro data center solutions to Trends & Technologies, Inc., one of the leading IT services providers in the Philippines.
Vertiv installed the Vertiv SmartRow 2 and the Vertiv SmartAisle to Trends’ two data center locations in Cavite and Makati City, respectively.
The two solutions replaced their traditional brick-and-mortar style infrastructure, giving them the flexibility to support more computing requirements from their customers. Both solutions are fully-integrated with best-in-class power, cooling, monitoring and security features. In addition, because of their fully-integrated design, both the SmartRow 2 and SmartAisle were deployed and installed within weeks in both of Trends’ data center locations, providing minimal disruptions to their business operations.
Pilmico expands pet food line

Cebu lauds Visayan Electric
The provincial government of Cebu has recognized AboitizPower subsidiary Visayan Electric Co. and other distribution utilities for braving the challenges of restoring power in the aftermath of Typhoon Odette.
Speaking during the appreciation ceremony hosted by the Capitol on Feb. 7, 2022, Anton Mari Perdices, chief operating officer of AboitizPower Distribution Utilities, underscored how the collaboration between the private and public sectors greatly helped the province in its speedy recovery, particularly in the re-electrification of households in Cebu.
Perdices lauded the over 700-strong manpower comprising Visayan Electric employees and augmentation personnel from other groups, despite also being affected by the typhoon, for working tirelessly through the holidays to ensure Cebuanos would be re-energized as soon as possible.

Cardinal Santos Medical Center’s (CSMC) Cancer Center recently acquired a brand-new Vital Beam Linear Accelerator (LINAC) for safer and more efficient treatment of cancer patients, even in the midst of the pandemic.
The LINAC Machine allows treatment of conventional techniques of radiation treatment as well as the new advanced radiation therapy techniques namely: Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) and Volumetric Arc Radiation Therapy (VmAT).
This new technology offered by the new LINAC machine is one of the technological advancements in the world of radiation oncology that brings the institution one step closer in offering world class radiation therapy management for cancer patients.
On track
Epson is on track with its fiscal year 2021 target, recording 124 percent increase in sales and maintaining market dominance in the first half of the year, while also securing the biggest market share in document scanners.
There is a slight drop in demand for business systems like printers due to lockdown restrictions and school vacations. However, Epson’s commercial and industrial printer sales demonstrated aggressive growth as the market reopens and the election campaign starts.
Meanwhile, the visual instruments market is expected to recover as corporate and leisure-related business reopens. Epson’s projector sales are expected to close at 144 percent growth by the end ofFY21.
Promoting health, safety
In December 2021, CitySavings Bank joined DepEd in promoting vaccination among teachers through the “Masayang Pamasko 2021 Raffle Promo.”
All teaching and non-teaching staff who applied and qualified for a Teachers’ Salary Loan with the bank and presented their vaccination cards or certificates were automatically included in the raffle for a cash prize of 2,000.
For the whole month, there were 234 winners in total from all over the country, which made many teachers doubly delighted last Christmas, including Albien Arayan of Tagbina, Surigao del Sur.
