Free vaccination drive
Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF), Pilmico Foods Corp. together with its premium pet food brand Maxime and other partner organizations conducted month-long activities in Capas, Tarlac including anti-rabies vaccination.
Last March 25, AKF conducted free seminars, pet registration, and pet vaccination in Brgy. Sto. Rosario, Capas, Tarlac. Maxime for its part, showed its support for the shelter’s advocacies by donating 48 bags of Maxime products.
More than 300 pets including cats and dogs were vaccinated during the event while dog owners went home with free bags of Maxime dog food.
Visit Singapore
Cebu Pacific (CEB) renewed its partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to inspire Filipinos to travel again and enjoy fresh experiences in the Lion City.
Singapore recently reopened its borders for all fully vaccinated Filipinos. Since April 1, vaccinated travellers to Singapore enjoy a simplified travel process, requiring only proof of vaccination, a pre-departure Covid-19 test, and an online SG Arrival Card.
“ Through this partnership, Filipino travellers can look forward to attractive promotions and campaigns to warmly welcome them back to Singapore,” said Juliana Kua, assistant chief executive, International Group, Singapore Tourism Board.
CEB currently flies daily between Manila and Singapore.
‘Women power’
In celebration of the 2022 National Women’s Month, Smart turned over to women-led Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Shrine Parish Pastoral Council (OLMMPPC) in Muntinlupa City over 300 packs of #PlantSmart kits that will be distributed to members, volunteers, many of whom are homemakers who find time to help in the parish’s daily operations and community outreach programs.
Each #PlantSmart kit contains easy-to-grow vegetable seedlings often consumed by Filipinos. The package also includes loam soil and fertilizers. Beneficiaries are also given links to Smart’s ‘Kalye Mabunga’, an infotainment web series that shares tips on how to start and manage an urban garden.
Other OLMMPPC-affiliated women-led organizations that received #PlantSmart kits are Ministry of Ushers, Greeters and Collectors, Familia, Children of Mary, Miraculous Medal Family Center and Basic Ecclesial Communities that also conduct outreach activities in urban poor areas.
Smart also donated 100 packs to the Armed Forces of the Philippines Enlisted Personnel Village Women’s Club of Taguig City to boost their ongoing edible urban gardening efforts.
Wellness champions
Pasig City’s Pinagbuhatan Elementary School and Tanjay City’s San Miguel High School were named as this year’s champions for having the best implementation of the Nestlé Wellness Campus (NWC) program.
Through the partnership of Nestlé Philippines and the Department of Education (DepEd), the NWC program was born to help educate the youth and the community about the value of healthier food and lifestyle choices. Every year, participating schools take a proactive role in implementing the program’s dancercise, student and adult modules, and their own wellness initiatives to promote the 7 Healthy Habits — Choose Nutritious and Varied Options, Manage Portions, Choose to Drink Water and Milk, Enjoy Meals Together, Play Actively, Care for the Planet, Keep Good Hygiene.
Pinagbuhatan Elementary School and San Miguel High School were each awarded own trophy and P 200,000 worth of prize packages. For the Inter-region category, the National Capital Region won first place, a trophy and P200,000 in prize packages.
CCBPI among top 10 best workplaces
Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc. (CCBPI)–Coca-Cola’s local bottling arm– ranked eighth among the country’s best workplaces, as certified this 2022 by Great Place to Work (GPTW), a global authority on workplace culture.

Asian skincare trends
Japanese brand Hada Labo, which sells out a bottle every five seconds, offers to the Philippine market a line of products that answers Asia’s beauty trend: mochi-hada, or rice-cake skin, achieved in the most simple way.

MVP group strengthens support for AFP

Tulong Kapatid, the consortium of companies and foundations under the leadership of Manuel V Pangilinan, strengthened its commitment to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
At a recently held turnover ceremony, Tulong Kapatid provided over 10,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to the AFP, while Makati Medical Center donated an additional 3,000 doses. The group also turned over its financial assistance to families of soldiers who perished in the C-130 plane crash in Patikul, Sulu, last year. This donation was spearheaded by PLDT, Smart, PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF), and One Meralco Foundation (OMF) through the PayMaya platform.
In support of the Makati Medical Center Foundation (MCF) and AFP partnership, PLDT donated five computers for the AFP Dental Records Information Management System (DRIMS), along with technology and connectivity support for Philippine Navy Medical Information Computerized System (MedICS). The MVP group also donated 30 emergency bicycles for MMCF’s Hospital-In-A-Bike Project, in partnership with PSF, Maynilad, Women-In-Action Gretchen Ho, Israel Embassy, and the MASHAV Program.
FUSO Ph joins CV show
Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corp., (SFP), the general distributor of FUSO and one of the Philippines’ primary commercial vehicle distributors of brand-new trucks and buses participated once again at the Clark Commercial Vehicle Show held last March 31 to April 1 at Fontana Leisure Parks & Casino, Clark, Pampanga with the theme, “Transport Cooperatives Transformation towards the New Normal.”

BPI Foundation provides relief to Taal evacuees
BPI Foundation provided immediate relief assistance to 400 families or around 2,000 individuals in Agoncillo, Batangas who were greatly affected by the recent rumblings of the Taal Volcano.
As part of BPI Foundation’s disaster response program called BPI BAYANihan, which aims to support communities badly impacted by disasters, a total of 400 relief packs, containing food and hygiene kits, were donated to evacuees in Agoncillo Central Elementary School, Barangay Paniga, Coral na Munti Elementary School, and Coral na Munti High School. These were transported and distributed on-site by the Ayala Foundation.
BPI Foundation, in partnership with the Philippine Disaster Risk Foundation , is also currently building the BPI Bayanihan Center, a two-storey 506-square meter multi-purpose facility in Brgy. Malainin, Ibaan, Batangas City for people burdened by disasters and pandemics. The facility is designed to withstand hazards in the locality and accommodate approximately 300 people. The building is set to be completed in July.

PGH Foundation
Authors of “Opening the Archipelago: The Story of Blockchain in the Philippines” and publishing house Bookshelf PH have donated P250,000 to the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation to help the facility deliver quality healthcare to its patients.
The authors are UnionBank senior executive vice president Henry Aguda, UnionBank first vice president Catherine Anne Casas and Nathan Marasigan. The book was published by Bookshelf PH, one of the up-and-coming publishing houses in the country.
The donation was turned over at the UnionBank Plaza in Ortigas Center, a few weeks after the book’s publication. PGH Medical Foundation administrative officer Victor Querubin Zoleta received the check from Aguda, Casas, and Bookshelf PH co-founder Monette Quiogue.
