THE second edition of the 29th Defense and Sporting Arms Show, organized by The Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers Inc. (AFAD), is set to captivate audiences from December 7 to 11 at the esteemed SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Regarded as the nation’s longest-standing arms exhibition, this event promises a diverse array of cutting-edge local and imported firearms, optics, sporting goods, and accessories. Open to the public, the show welcomes gun enthusiasts, hobbyists, and sports aficionados alike.
Following the resounding success of its inaugural edition at the new venue, the show’s members and exhibitors are poised for heightened participation under the dynamic leadership of Aric Topacio and Edwin Año.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Topacio stated, “We’re delighted to be back. After the overwhelming response in the first edition last May, our members, especially the industry’s major players, are eager to showcase their products and actively engage with visitors.”
Emphasizing a shift in perspective, Topacio highlighted that AFAD has evolved beyond being a mere association of gun manufacturers and importers. It now stands as an active organization representing sports enthusiasts, responsible gun owners, and a driving force for continual progress in the industry.
For almost three decades, the arms show has served as the primary hub for the firearms industry, offering invaluable opportunities for gun enthusiasts, law enforcement, collectors, and industry professionals to stay abreast of the latest products, innovations, and technology.
The opening ceremony, scheduled for 10 a.m., will feature high-ranking officials from the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and relevant agencies as esteemed guests.
Attendees will have the unique chance to participate in open discussions covering self-defense, firearms safety handling, security, responsible gun ownership, and regulation policies.
Underlining AFAD’s commitment to public education, Topacio asserted, “Our unwavering passion is to educate the public on responsible gun ownership, safety, and security. Despite the fact that incidents involving licensed gun owners are a mere fraction of the total number, our mission is to persist in promoting responsible gun ownership.”
Over 40 members and guest exhibitors confirmed their participation in this landmark event.
