In observance of Fire Prevention Month, Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower) has intensified its safety preparations through upskilling activities and awareness campaigns on fire safety and proper response. This effort is crucial as electrical issues remain a leading cause of fires, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), which reported that over a quarter of fire incidents in the first two months of 2025 were due to electrical problems.

Strengthening fire safety in Bukidnon

Hedcor, an AboitizPower renewable asset manager, collaborated with the Aboitiz Foundation and BFP Region 10 to launch a firefighting training program in Bukidnon’s remote barangays. The program equipped barangay police officers and local volunteers with critical skills to control fires and protect lives before professional firefighters arrive. Hedcor also donated essential firefighting gear, benefiting nearly 8,000 residents.
