Metrobank is strongest bank in PH 

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) has been named “The Strongest Bank in the Philippines” for the second consecutive year by The Asian Banker.

 “The bank continued to outperform its peers in the country in terms of capitalization and liquidity. Its Tier 1 capital ratio, total capital adequacy ratio and liquid assets to total deposits and borrowings ratio remained high. Moreover, the Bank grew its low-cost CASA deposits, reflecting its solid deposit franchise. Meanwhile, with its prudent management of credit risk, the Bank demonstrated stronger asset quality than its peer banks in the country,” said Asian Banker in its citation for choosing Metrobank as the Philippines’ Strongest Bank by Balance Sheet for 2022.

This highly sought award is given to financial institutions who have exhibited strength based on their financial performance, which covers their ability to scale, balance sheet growth, risk profile, profitability, asset quality and liquidity.

Upskilling future software developers

With its commitment to promote education as a bridge towards employment, Aboitiz Foundation partnered with Uplift Code Camp to upskill passionate individuals. 

The Camp helps scholars acquire the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to take advantage of the multitude of opportunities within the tech industries.

To kick start the program, Aboitiz Foundation awarded scholarship certificates to 10 successful applicants. The scholars began the Aboitiz-Uplift Code Camp program last November 9 at the Aboitiz Group’s corporate office in NAC Tower, BGC. 

For the inaugural batch, the Aboitiz-Uplift Code Camp will run from November 2022 to May 2023.

PLDT Enterprise at GO CEBU Grand Expo

PLDT Enterprise, the B2B arm of PLDT, the largest fully integrated telco provider in the country, has partnered with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry for this year’s Cebu Business Months (CBM) 2022. 

The CBM 2022, a year-long series of events and programs, gathers stakeholders from the private and public sectors in the areas of Entrepreneurship and ICT-BPM, among others.

Prosperity in Diversity: A Global Approach to Peacebuiding

Global Peace Foundation (GPF) will host the Global Peace Festival 2022 from December 1 to 3      in Clark Global City, Pampanga with the theme, “One Family Under God: A Vision for a World of Freedom and Peace.”

The event will gather thousands of Global Peace Advocates from all over the world and will feature three major programs: the Service Learning Program, Global Peace Leadership Conference, and the Global Peace Festival. 

The Philippine national motto will be highlighted at the event: Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa (For God, People, Nature, and Country), expressing a collection of four essential Filipino principles, each of which is linked to the others.

GPF is an international non-sectarian,  non-partisan, nonprofit organization established in 2009, which promotes an innovative, values-based approach for promoting peace that is motivated by the idea of “One Family under God.”

Insular Foundation celebrates academic excellence

Eighteen  Gold Eagle scholars  graduated and were recently feted during Insular Foundation’s online recognition rites.  Fifteen garnered Latin honors. All  received graduation cash gifts from the Foundation. 

The Gold Eagle Scholarship program is Insular Foundation’s flagship program giving scholarship grants to students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses in its six partner schools: UP Diliman, ASCOT, BSU, BISU, CMU, and DORSU starting A.Y. 2022-2023. In more than 50 years, the Scholarship Program has helped hundreds of students complete their college studies.

On its 53rd year, the Insular Foundation continues its mission of serving thousands of students and scholars so they could attain higher education and achieve a better life.
