Makati’s cultural landscape transforms this September as the Proscenium Theater opens at Rockwell Center with its inaugural production—The Bodyguard The Musical by 9 Works Theatrical.
Designed by internationally renowned architect Carlos Ott, the theater features a 780-seat main hall with a 16×16-meter stage, fully automated fly line system, orchestra pit, and versatile black box theater. The venue’s crown jewel is its custom-engineered acoustic shell, tested with full choir and symphony orchestra performances, ensuring every note reaches audiences with remarkable warmth and clarity. A Steinway & Sons concert grand piano further elevates the exceptional sound quality.
The debut production brings home Grammy-nominated artist and West End star Christine Allado (Hamilton, The Prince of Egypt, In the Heights) as Rachel Marron, alongside West End leading man Matt Blaker (The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chicago) as Frank Farmer.
They’re joined by powerhouse Filipino performers including Sheena Palad, CJ Navato, Tim Yap, John Joven-Uy, Vien King, Jasper Jimenez, and Paji Arceo, with Elian Santos and Giani Sarita alternating as Fletcher. The ensemble features Jasmine Fitzgerald, Radha, Fay Castro, Winchester Lopez, Carmelle Ros, Richardson Yadao, Iya Villanueva, Vyen Villanueva, Alex Aure, Julio Laforteza, Natalie Duque, PJ Rebullida, Lorenz Martinez, and Lani Ligot.
