MR.DIY, the popular retail brand that provides affordable and quality products, has embarked on a noble mission that extends beyond the confines of its store shelves. In partnership with the City Governments of Carmona and Dasmariñas, and the Red Cross of the Philippines, the brand has organized a two-legged medical and optical mission in Cavite under the banner of Acts of Kindness (AoK).
The first leg of the mission took place in Brgy. Bancal, Carmona, Cavite, on October 12, 2023. The event was led by Dr. Ally Gatbonton, representing the City Health Office of Carmona. The mission provided a range of medical and optical services to the local residents, including adults and children. The beneficiaries exceeded the initial target of 200 and reached a total of 450. These beneficiaries were attended to with utmost care and compassion, providing them with the much-needed health and vision boost.
The second leg of the mission was conducted in Brgy. Paliparan 3, Phase 2, Dasmariñas, Cavite, on October 13, 2023. The mission, led by Dr. Daisy Alvarez, representing the City Health Office of Dasmariñas, targeted a total of 499 beneficiaries. The medical and optical services provided during the mission ensured that the community’s health and vision needs were met.
MR.DIY’s senior marketing manager Charles Salecina expressed his gratitude to the City Governments of Carmona and Dasmariñas, and the local community, stating that the brand was honored to have partnered with them for the good cause. The brand’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community is truly commendable, and the Medical and Optical Mission serves as a testament to this commitment.
The AoK program, with its roots in the Good Bag Campaign, is a driving force behind the brand’s commitment to enabling and empowering communities. The proceeds from the sale of eco-bags nationwide are donated to its non-government organization partners, making AoK a powerful initiative that creates a better world.
