Yields down

US Treasury yields ticked down on Tuesday from their near-February highs, as traders looked ahead to the Federal Reserve’s interest rate announcement on Wednesday for signs of its rate path for the rest of the year.

Benchmark 10-year notes’ yield fell to 4.306 percent , from Monday’s close of 4.340 percent . Yields had approached their February high of 4.354 percent on Monday.

The two-year yield ticked down to 4.693 percent from 4.736 percent on Monday.

The inversion in the yield curve between two-year and 10-year notes narrowed by 1 basis point to minus 40 basis points.
