The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) yesterday said the government needs to address three critical areas in the country: food security, human resources development, and investment generation.
PCCI said these will be the focus of its resolutions to be issued at the 50th Philippines Business Conference & Exhibition (PBC&E) on October 22 to 23.
“These recommendations emanated from the various consultations we conducted among our members, local chambers, and industry partners. These were all solicited from the ground which we hope will be acted upon by President (Marcos Jr.),” said Jude Aguilar, chairman of this year’s PBC, in a statement.
The resolutions will be submitted to the President on the second and last day of the conference tomorrow.
PCCI president Enunina Mangio said PBC&E will discuss innovative growth strategies that are essential for business to thrive in today’s ever changing and competitive landscape.
“We remain committed in our resolve to proactively collaborate with the government in pushing for policies that support and promote business competitiveness and growth,” Mangio said.
Mangio said over 1,500 local and foreign delegates are expected to take part in the event themed “Embracing Innovation.
Empowering Business. Enriching Lives,” which builds on the PBC as a platform for strengthening the role of private sector in shaping the country’s economic and social landscapes.
Vice President Sarah Duterte is set to open the PBC Expo, deliver a keynote address and present awards to the recipients of various PCCI awards — Legacy, Excellence in Ecology and Economy, Alfredo M. Yao, Injap Sia Outstanding Young Entrepreneur and Tourism.
